Hello, I'm back.

So, it was almost 2 years ago since I wrote the last Note. I have been entirely bored to write these years. Why do I have to write without joy? It is juat a hobby. But the situation and my thought is changing in these few days.

Where should I start to write? A lot of things happend since I wrote the last one. The COVID had destroyed the tourism of Miyakojima. I nearly gave up to runnning because of a kind of sickness. My youngest daughter got into elementary school… But it doesn't matter. I would write what just I want to write in that moment.

I got a part time job at the light house in Higashi-Hennazaki. Almost onece a week. My elder friend Jinriki-man offerd to me. He and his wife is working there long time(his wife is charged from the company of light-house-management). They needed a man who can work when they want to take a holiday because the light house should basically be open everyday. So the predeccesor resigned, he wanted me.

The light house works itself automaticaly. I mean it lights at sunset, and it turns the light off at sunrise. Sometimes it lights in a daytime if the sky is filled with thick cloud and dark. We do not care about it. We care about tourists.

The light house in Higashi-Hennazaki is a little bit unusual. Most of light houses in Japan are not available to enter without permission. They don't have enough space inside for turists because they are just construcetd for keeping sea safe for ship. But some of the light houses (includes Higashi-Hennazaki) are available. I heard there are 16 in Japan. In our light house, people pay 300yen fee and be able to climb up and enjoy one of the greatest landscape of Miyakojima from the top of the light house. In a good wheather condition at a summer day, it is so amaging! The landscape spread 360 degrees, sea wind blows to face, the horizon is rounded and you realize the Earth is rounded.

My job is just to recieve the fee from tourists who wants to climb and to hand them tickets. Sometimes I sell some items like postcards or calenders. And keep the inside of light house clean and safe. Some people wants the information about the light house or island and I tell them what I know. For example, "I want to know another good spot for landscape" "Is there a nice restaurant  for lunch around here?" "Is it true that this light house is dividing East China Sea and Public Ocean?" like that. (The last question is not exactly true.) No one commands me. I hate to be commanded. I manage sum amout of money as just exactly it shoud be, talk to people, clean the inside, and write some report needed. This is fits for me.

By the way, I noticed something interesting. The service at the light house is similar to guest house my main work. Toursits want similar information or knowledge. The big differnce is the length of time. In a guset house, we spend a lot of time to talk(hours or days). At the light house, we spend just few minutes. I saw my friend Jinriki-man talk to people and noticed he recognize people's feature or characteristics very quickly from their behavior or the way of speaking. Like, "You from Kyushu, aren't you?" . It is amasing.

Now I had finished the last work in this year at the light house, and I'm working for my own guest house Sun-Sarra. People come to us, stay and enjoy the end of the year. It is our honer. Have a happy new year.
