Let's explore the Cave!

I’m going to introduce a limestone cave in Miyakojima. It is named Nakabari-Shonyudou. I had knew about the cave more than 10 years ago but I went there just last month. As like many people, it is my bad habit that I do not do what I can do anytime I want. So the cave is closed to my home and I didn’t go. When I got there, I knew I should have experienced the great nature much earlier.

The cave is possessed personal. The owner explored the cave and made the stairs and the passage so that tourists can visit.

The imfomation of the cave made by the Owner is pretty and nice.
It is made from play-mat for kids.
The stairs following to the entrance of the cave

Following the narrow passage and stairs, we got the entrance of the cave. It was an uncommon site of view. More than 10 meters below the ground, the entrance was surrounded by too many tropical plants. They were enormous. Some roots of plants were hanging from high in the air.

The entrance of the cave

Inside the cave was unexpectedly spacious. The passage which was made by the owner was narrow but long. And filled with countless stalactites. It had a comfortable temperature, not too cold nor hot, and sometimes unexpectedly high humidity.

Stalactites were pretty defferent from which I saw in another cave in Japan.
Maybe because of the defference of the soil.
It was a mysterious sight.
Stalactite were growing extremely slowly.
The passage was bright and laid by felt not to slip.
It is not dangerous for kids.

In winter or bad whether, many tourists get anxious to find where to go. Now, I recommend this cave and you would find it amazing.

Hundreds of Awamori were stored in the cave.
I heard that the temperature and humidity are the best for Awamori in the caves.
After a few years, the taste would get better.
