Lily's Journal #1 Pride House Tokyo Legacy Visit(Lilyさんのインターン日記)

Hi everyone! I am Lily Scott, S.C.P. Japan’s summer intern. I will be working alongside S.C.P. Japan for the next six weeks learning about what it means to work for a non-profit organization. Within my internship I will be proofreading documents to make sure the English is correct as well, creating graphics for social media, working alongside my trainers, and attending events that use sports to make both society and sports more inclusive.

Today I had the pleasure of joining Machi Orime in going to Pride House Tokyo Legacy. Pride House Tokyo is a fantastic organization that aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues through different events. At this facility, they also provide counseling to those who need it. S.C.P. Japan has been a member of the Pride House Tokyo Consortium since its inception in 2020, working as the Athletes' Messages Team to create a safe and inclusive environment within sport and to create an inclusive society by using the power of sport.

When I went to Pride House Tokyo Legacy I had to opportunity to walk around the facility and get to know the staff members a little bit better. I learned about their mission of creating an LGBTQ+ inclusive sports environment as well as an inclusive society (much like SCP Japan). After my tour, I spent time talking with the staff members and getting to know them. I highly recommend visiting this place or taking a look at their website for more information about what they do.

This is me at the location!
