少年詩【君はマンタを知ってるかい】
君はマンタを知ってるかい
傷だらけのマンタを知ってるかい
青い海をとぶように泳ぐ
マンタのこころを知ってるかい
人をもつつむ大きな体に
するどい尻尾を持っている
強くて自由で怖いものなしの
マンタの腹をのぞいてごらん
小さな魚がかくれている
石つぶての降る夜は
マンタは魚をかばいたくて
大きな体でだきしめる
刃の吹く日には
マンタは魚をまもりたくて
大きなこころで立ちはだかる
君はマンタを知ってるかい
マンタの尻尾には毒がない
闘うすべなく打たれつづける
傷だらけのマンタのやさしさを
君はどれだけ知ってるかい
君はマンタを知ってるかい
Do you know the manta ray?
Do you know the manta ray covered in scars?
Swimming as if flying through the blue sea,
Do you know the heart of the manta ray?
Enclosed in a large body that envelops people,
With a sharp tail, Strong, free, and fearless,
Take a look beneath the manta ray's belly
Where small fish hide.
On nights when pebbles rain down,
The manta ray wants to protect the fish,
Embracing them with its large body.
On days when the wind blows blades,
The manta ray wants to defend the fish,
Standing firm with its big heart.
Do you know the manta ray?
The manta ray's tail has no poison.
Endlessly struck without means to fight back,
The gentleness of the scarred manta ray.
