Situation in Ukraine
It has been 783 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian losses were 920 soldiers
9 tanks
13 armored combat vehicles
16 artillery guns
1 air defense system
11 drones
53 other vehicles.
The entire front reported 54 ground battles in one day.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 2.7,
compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
The losses on the Russian side are mostly infantry fighting vehicles,
tanks and military trucks,
and they are actively attacking by sending soldiers to the front lines.
Conversely,
on the Ukrainian side,
pickups and tanks stand out.
This is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.

1.
Russia is no longer able to receive payment for its exports.
According to the Central Bank of Russia's balance of payments data as of the end of March,
the value of exports from Russia was $39.6 billion,
while the assets held by Russian companies abroad increased by $15.5 billion as a result of a series of cases in which banks in various countries refused to transfer money to Russian companies due to the tightening of U.S. sanctions last December.
These "assets held by Russian companies abroad" include export receivables,
meaning that even if they sell abroad,
they have not received payment.
This means that uncollected export payments jumped fivefold in March from the previous month.
Mr. Suvorov,
an economist at Center Credit Bank,
stated that "a quarter of the money exported abroad is not collected and is sitting abroad," and Mr. Kostin,
a representative of VTB Bank,
Russia's second largest bank,
complained in a speech to the Russian Bankers Association that "the mere mention of Russia's name brings business to a halt. The representative of Russia's second largest bank,
VTB Bank,
complained in a speech to the Russian Bankers Association that "just mentioning the name of Russia puts a stop to business.
The representative of Norilsk Nickel in Berlin stated that "almost all major banks refuse to transfer money to Russian companies,
even if they are not on the sanctions list," and the representative of Center Credit Bank,
Mr. Suvorov,
expressed concern that "this is a dangerous situation and inflation will accelerate. Suvorov,
head of Center Credit Bank,
expressed concern that "this is a dangerous situation and inflation will accelerate as foreign currency reserves are depleted.
Perhaps this is why the ruble has fallen recently,
and the dollar is currently at 93 rubles,
approaching the milestone of 100.
Second.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Eide stated at a press conference in Kyiv that "Norway,
together with the Netherlands,
plans to transfer F-16s equipped with the latest weaponry to Ukraine".
It's not clear what this latest weapon is,
but the minister said,
"I can't give you exact numbers or anything like that,
but it's an important long-range strike capability with the ability to strike behind enemy lines."
Third.
Reuters has learned from industry sources that only a third of the refineries destroyed by Ukrainian drone strikes this year have been restored.
According to the Reuters count,
13.6% of refining capacity was lost in March,
but while some refineries,
including Rosneft's largest refinery in Ryazan,
were restored in April,
many are still under repair,
some will take time to repair,
and many cannot be restored even if repaired.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
We will focus on the areas where the war situation has changed.
The changes can be followed along with the dates in a large full-screen display.
First of all,
I would like to say no.
Please note that there will be fewer pictures and other information today due to the unprecedented changes in the war situation.
Northeast: towards Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
The following is a report on the war situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line,
from the Sivelsk area to the Bakhmut area.
In this area,
there were no reports of ground fighting on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Kupyansk,
and in the area of Sivelsk and Bakhmut,
Russian troops attacked Bilohorivka,
Verkhonokamyanske,
Novi,
ChasivYar,
Klishchiivka,
and Niuyork.
Around Sibersk
1.
According to the video with location information,
Russian forces unusually attacked Ukrainian positions southeast of Verkhonokamyanske with cluster artillery shells,
wearing down the Ukrainian army.
This location has not received much attention,
and it is right on the border between Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts,
which may have made it difficult for the Ukrainian military to deal with the situation.
Estonian Chief of Staff Motz noted that recent Russian military tactics can be described as "amoeba tactics," and that they are trying to randomly find vulnerabilities in the Ukrainian front lines,
while the Institute of War Studies pointed out that they are using attrition tactics to exploit the Ukrainian military's lack of air defense,
artillery,
and human resources.
2.
Conversely,
the Ukrainian Army conducted an attack with 40 drones south of Spirne,
destroying a Russian T80.
Shown is a view of the 54th mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army,
the location of which is shown on the map.
Third.
Along the railroad south of Vimka,
we have revised the battle map of a part of the previously disputed territory to Russian-occupied territory.
Around ChasivYar
As we have been reporting daily,
the Russian military has begun operations to occupy ChasivYar and is preparing for a possible general offensive.
Colonel Kevryuk of the Ukrainian military reserve appeared on Ukrainian television and said,
"ChasivYar,
unlike Bakhmut and Avdiivka,
is a highland of great strategic importance,
and if ChasivYar is occupied,
it will be a springboard to Drushkivka,
20 km to the west,
and Konstantinovka,
10 km to the southwest,
it could lead to the collapse of the entire Donetsk defense line," he warned.
To make matters worse,
the Ukrainian military decided to pull back the 67th Mechanized Brigade,
which had been defending the front line's canal perimeter,
and deploy the 241st Homeland Defense Brigade.
The reason was that there were commanders with extremist ideology and internal disorder within the unit was too much to be seen. Since the equipment of the Mechanized Brigade and the Homeland Defense Brigade were different,
they were simply downgraded in strength.
Against this background,
the Russians concentrated on the city of Canal,
attacking from the front and the flanks and gradually closing the gap.
1.
Russian forces are heavily bombing,
shelling,
and drone striking the city of Canal,
destroying high-rise apartments,
schools,
and other buildings along Route O0506,
as well as destroying underground positions one by one in preparation for an urban battle,
according to a larger map.
Russian troops will probably enter the city from route O0506.
2.
At the same time,
Russian troops attacked and advanced into the forests north of Canal.
According to the position video,
a Ukrainian drone is attacking through the forest,
confirming the presence of Russian troops in this area.
The battle map has been updated to show Russian forces occupying this area from the disputed territory.
3.
In the forests south of Canal,
the Russians have also launched hot-air bombs and close-in airstrikes at the locations shown on the map,
carefully limiting the movement of Ukrainian forces.
Ukrainian forces are also responding to Russian positions with drones,
but the Russians are overwhelmingly dominant in the number and type of attacks.
The Russians are attacking the canal from the north and south,
with the option of encircling it from the north or south,
or crossing the river by going through the canal.
Other Russian attacks were repelled by Ukrainian forces,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
Southeast Donetsk region
The weather in Avdiivka is sunny.
The minimum temperature is 13 degrees Celsius and the maximum is 23 degrees Celsius.
Today's forecast is cloudy.
As we reported yesterday,
strong winds are forecast,
which will affect drone flights,
and the Russian military offensive is expected to intensify.
Here is an update on the situation in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka area
The Russians attacked this area eight times.
The first.
According to the position video,
the Russians advanced in the direction of Novovakumchivka and then to the west,
and now the Ukrainians are blocking their advance with artillery and cluster shells on the branch of the railway line and on the south-eastern outskirts of Novovakumchivka.
The railroad section had just been recaptured by Ukrainian forces in January,
and the battle map has been updated to show its extent as an extension of Russian-occupied and disputed territory from the Ukrainian recaptured area.
The Russians are also trying to use this location as a foothold to advance toward Ocheretiyne,
north of Novovakumchivka,
a development that will not go unnoticed.
2.
The positional video also indicates that Russian troops have entered the center of the city of Semenivka,
at least in what appears to be an urban battle.
Sources close to the Russian side report that after shelling Ukrainian positions with artillery and drones,
Russian troops advanced from the south and occupied Ukrainian positions in the center of the city.
The video with location information also indicates that the area has been at least urbanized or partially occupied by Russian forces,
and the battle map has been updated to show the extent of the contested area as an expansion of the disputed territory.
Semenivka was defended by the Ukrainian army's most elite 3rd Assault Brigade,
but it may be struggling.
Drawing a bit on the map,
the fact that the Russians have entered Semenivka means that the defensive line using the river has been breached,
so the next step will be to fall back and defend the position centered on Novopokrovske,
5 km to the rear.
No other information was available that would affect the battle map.
Marinka area
The Russians made 16 attacks in this area.
1.
In Krasnohorivka,
north of Marinka,
the Russians attacked a residential area south of the railroad tracks with multiple rocket launchers,
then advanced with an assault force and took the eastern half of the residential area and a portion north of the tracks,
according to unconfirmed reports.
The battle map has been updated to include this area as an extension of the disputed territory.
2.
In Novomirovka,
the position video shows Russian troops advancing on the junction shown on the map south of the city center,
while Ukrainian troops use drones,
artillery fire,
and mines to reduce the strength of the Russian forces.
What we are showing you is the Russian forces trying to advance at the location shown on the map.
Right now,
there is no change in the battle map,
but it appears that the Ukrainian forces have been forced to use tactics to remotely block the advancing Russian forces,
and the Russian forces are advancing little by little,
taking casualties.
South,
Zaporizhia province
Southern,
Kherson Province
In this sector,
the Russians attacked nine times at Stalomaiorsk and Robotyne,
and four times at Krinky,
but were repulsed by the Ukrainian forces each time,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
That's all for today.
Thanks for watching.
