Situation in Ukraine
It has been 739 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
the Russian losses were 1160 soldiers
16 tanks
28 armored combat vehicles
35 cannons
1 aircraft
14 drones
68 other vehicles.
Aircraft losses include information that one Su34 was shot down.
This is the 15th aircraft since February 17th.
There were 82 reports of ground fire in one day across the entire front.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 6.4 compared to the losses on the Ukrainian side.
The losses on the Russian side were mostly tanks,
infantry fighting vehicles,
armored fighting vehicles,
military and civilian trucks,
with a high level of confirmed losses of key equipment.
Conversely,
on the Ukrainian side,
artillery stands out.
This is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to see where you need to go.
1.
The news is that Russia could be at an economic standstill in a year.
President Vladimir Putin announced tax increases in his speech to the Congress.
According to Putin,
the head of the Russian Ministry of Finance,
Mr. Siluanov,
the introduction of a progressive income tax,
the making permanent of the tax on excess corporate profits that was imposed last year on a one-time basis,
and other tax increases are already in the pipeline.
Russia's finances are rapidly deteriorating,
and the balance of the National Welfare Fund,
which pools oil and natural gas revenues,
has fallen by 60% in the past two years since the start of special military operations,
to $55.9 billion as of January 1,
from which another $20 billion will be withdrawn this year.
According to Centro Credit Bank economist Suvorov,
if oil prices fall to $50 a barrel,
another $20 billion will be withdrawn,
and he warns that the fund will be exhausted early next year.
2.
NK Pro News,
a North Korean news outlet,
reports that North Korean shipments to Russia have been suspended for the past three weeks.
North Korea has already sent 6,700 containers to Russia since the meeting between President Putin and Workers' Party of Korea leader Kim Jong-un last September,
and the South Korean Defense Ministry estimates that it has already sent 3 million 152mm artillery shells and missiles.
Incidentally,
North Korea's stockpile of artillery shells is said to be in the tens of millions.
However,
satellite analysis shows that there have been no container shipments since the Maya 1 returned to North Korean ports from Vladivostok on February 12.
While NK Pro cannot rule out the possibility of rail transport,
it suggests that production of the shells may have been halted due to either problems with North Korean weapons production or logistical issues.
3.
The European Parliament passed a resolution by a margin of 451 to 46 to provide the EU countries with the necessary weapons until Ukraine achieves victory.
The content of the resolution is quite in-depth,
with the resolution emphasizing the importance of Ukraine's victory and specifying that all resources must be provided to Ukraine to regain control of Russian-occupied territory,
while at the same time calling on European countries to accelerate their defense sector and arms production,
calling on the EU and its member states to allocate at least 0. It also calls on the EU and its member states to allocate at least 0.25% of their GDP to military assistance to Ukraine and further specifies the need to prioritize arms supplies to Ukraine over contracts with third countries.
The European Parliament is composed of directly elected members whose seats are allocated according to the population of each country.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
We will tell you where the war situation is changing.
You can follow the changes in the war situation in detail on the large full-screen display.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
This section reports on the war situation on the Svatove-Kreminna line from Halkiu and Kupyansk,
and from the Siversk area to the Bakhmut area.
In this area the Russians attacked 14 times from Terny to Rozdorivka,
but were repulsed by the Ukrainian army,
and 8 times from Bakhmut.
Bakhmut area
Although no information is available from the Ukrainian military,
it appears that the Russians attacked two positions north and east of Ivanivske,
and that the Russians first broke through one of the Ukrainian defenses on the northern perimeter,
then broke through the eastern perimeter and rushed into the town,
taking control of half of the town.
Meanwhile,
on the southern axis of attack,
Russian forces have also broken through positions on Tereshkovo Street in the center of the city and are advancing,
and it appears that the city is now cut in two and in the midst of a fierce urban battle.
Although there is no information available to confirm this at this time,
we have updated its extent from Ukrainian-controlled territory to Russian-occupied territory,
and the entire city to disputed territory.
The area is approximately 2 square kilometers.
The 5th Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Army,
the 93rd Mechanized Brigade,
and the Signum Battalion of drone units are defending this area,
but I am sure that more information will become available at some point,
and I will report back when I know more.
Otherwise,
the Russian attack was repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
and no other information was available that would affect the battle map.
Southeast Donetsk region
The weather in Avdiivka is cloudy.
The minimum temperature is -1‹C and the maximum is 6‹C.
Today's weather forecast is cloudy.
Here is a report on the situation in Avdiivka,
Marinka and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka
Russian troops carried out 24 attacks in this sector.
The Ukrainian counterattack stopped the Russian advance for a while,
but the Russians continued to attack and began to advance again.
The Russians have deployed the new 74th Motorized Rifle Brigade in Orlivka and Tonenke,
and are trying to advance with as much force as possible before the Ukrainian army can establish a defensive position.
1.
In Berdici,
which suffered massive losses yesterday,
there are no reports of attacks today,
and the Russians are projecting thermobaric bombs north of the settlement to control movement.
There is no change in the battle map.
2.
In Orlivka,
south of the city,
the Russians have raised a flag at the school shown on the map,
south of the city,
to assert their occupation.
In the video,
the red flag of the 114th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Army can be seen on the destroyed school building.
Russian forces continue to attack,
and on Yelahina Street,
which runs east-west through the center of the city,
Russian troops are conducting a clearing operation,
while Ukrainian troops are using drones to reduce their strength.
The battle map remains unchanged at this point,
although the Russians appear to be pushing the battlefield a bit.
3.
To the south,
in Tonenke,
Russian troops have occupied a residential area on the eastern side of the town,
according to this video.
The Russian troops can be seen raising a flag on one of the buildings in the residential area and claiming occupation of the area.
The Russian military claims to have occupied the entire town,
but since the center of the town is a school,
they do not appear to have the entire settlement in their sights at this time.
We have updated the battle map to show the Russian occupation of this area from the disputed territory.
The 3rd Assault Brigade,
the most elite unit of the Ukrainian Army,
is deployed on the west side of Orlivka and Tonenke,
but there has been no significant activity so far,
and the strategy seems to be to use drones to degrade their strength until the Russians reach the river.
Otherwise,
the Russians attacked on the Pervomaiske and Neveleske attack axis,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
Marinka area
The Russians made 29 attacks in this area.
1.
In Krasnohorivka,
north of Marinka,
which we reported on recently,
the Russians retreated to the south near the mill after being defeated in the center of town.
We have updated the battle map of the area from Russian-occupied to contested.
2.
Conversely,
to the east of Heoryivka,
several intelligence reports indicate that the Russians advanced south of Heorhivsky Pond for two weeks,
winning a battle of positions.
We have updated the battle map of the area from disputed to Russian-occupied territory.
3.
Pobieda has been changed to Russian-occupied territory,
although the battle map remains unchanged.
Ukrainian forces have been using drones to attack Russian military positions and reduce their strength.
On this day,
they attacked the buildings shown on the map and neutralized Russian soldiers.
Fourth.
In Novomirovka,
the ground fighting continued from yesterday to the east and south of the city.
First,
to the east of the town,
positional video footage shows Russian troops using suicide drones to attack an agricultural facility northeast of the town,
confirming that this location is controlled by Ukrainian forces.
The image shown is from the Russian Army's 155th Marine Brigade and shows BMP infantry fighting vehicles positioned at the location shown on the map.
It looks like a decoy from the way it is prominently placed.
5.
Regarding the southern part of the city,
based on the information we provided yesterday,
we have changed the disputed area to Russian-occupied land.
The area will be about 4 square kilometers.
To illustrate with a map,
the Russians will bomb Kostiantyniukha,
which will serve as a supply base in the rear,
and then attack Novomihailivka from the front.
South,
Zaporizhia Province.
There are no reports of Russian attacks in this area,
and the battle map remains unchanged.
Southern Kherson Province
There are no reports of major ground combat in this area,
but it is possible that the Russians are expanding their territory slightly east of Krinky.
The image shown is from the Ukrainian side,
where Russian soldiers are hiding in a small hollow and throwing something,
but the Ukrainian drone takes a look at them before shooting them down.
No changes to the battle map at this time.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
