Situation in Ukraine
It has been 721 days since Russia invaded Kiev.
First,
general things.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses are
1,060 soldiers
9 tanks
39 armored combat vehicles
66 cannons
3 multiple rocket launchers
4 air defense systems
39 drones
43 other vehicles
Across the entire front,
84 ground engagements were reported in a single day.
In addition,
the Ukrainian military has just announced the sinking of a large Russian landing craft,
the Caesar Khunikov.
And the ratio of the number of Ukrainian equipment losses to Russian equipment losses that can be visually confirmed is 1 to 2.6,
with the Russian side losing 2.6 times as much as the Ukrainian side.
The Russian losses are mostly military trucks and tanks,
while the Ukrainian losses are mostly artillery.
Here is a short news report about the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to see where you need to go.
Number one.
I know this has been in the news,
but the U.S.
Senate passed a bill that includes support for Ukraine by a margin of 70-29.
That means that half of the Republicans voted for the bill.
Prior to the vote,
Elon Musk made headlines for his opposition to aid to Ukraine and urged Republicans not to vote for the bill.
The bill now goes to the House of Representatives,
but the problem is that Speaker Johnson intends not to vote on the bill,
in which case House Democrats could begin the process of removing the Speaker from office and vote on the bill without him.
That would require a supermajority of 218 signatures,
and that process could take a long time.
The filer said that a kamikaze blew when the Senate voted for the preliminary vote,
but apparently the kamikaze is still blowing in the distance.
Second.
There was an article about the miserable life in Donetsk under Russian occupation.
Donetsk,
with a population of 1 million,
was once the center of the Donetsk region with 1 million roses,
ideal public facilities,
developed infrastructure and clean streets,
but the Russian occupation changed life forever.
Olga from Donetsk told the reporter that first of all,
the water supply produces brown,
smelly water that is not very usable,
and drinking water has to be bought.
Water is rationed once a day in the evening only for low-income people,
and the rest of the population has to fetch it with buckets from the river,
which is filled with garbage and stinks.
There is no heating,
and the indoor temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius,
forcing people to wear fur coats to bed,
but they suffer from dampness and mold.
There is no garbage collection for months,
trucks and drivers are sent to the front,
spontaneous garbage piles up everywhere,
large rats run around,
and the place stinks.
Moreover,
prices continue to rise: in the last two months,
the price of Belarusian butter has risen from 180 to 220 rubles,
and milk from 120 to 130 rubles.
By the way,
one ruble is $0.01,
and salaries range from 20,000 rubles for a supermarket cleaner to 35,000 rubles for a security guard.
Although the Russian occupation authorities had said that life would improve once the country officially became Russian,
there is no sign of that,
and residents who remember the old days shrug their shoulders and say,
"This is nothing but humiliation.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
I will tell you where the war situation has changed.
Northeast: Luhansk region
Eastern part,
towards Bakhmut
We will report on the war situation from Halkiu and Kupyansk to the Svatovo-Kremina line,
and from the Sibersk area to the Bakhmut area.
In this area the Russians attacked twice near Shinkivka,
Ivanivka and Tabayivka,
three times near Terny and seven times in the direction of Bakhmut.
Svatobe-Kreminna line
The position video shows Russian troops advancing along the border forest east of Zarychine.
The image shown is from the Ukrainian army,
where a drone observes Russian trenches at the location on the battle map.
This location has not moved in quite some time since it was moved in July,
but we have revised the battle map to show part of the contested area as Russian-occupied territory.
Bakhmut area
Russian troops are conducting drone attacks on Canai in front of Chashif Yar,
In the direction of Ivanivske along the T0504 road,
the position video shows Russian troops advancing slightly along the main road and on two attack axes to the south,
The battle front is now where the battle map shows.
The image shown is of the 17th Armored Brigade of the Ukrainian Army observing the trenches near the battle map on the T0504 road.
In the suburban attack axis,
the Russians also advanced west of the Automobile School.
This area was updated on the battle map from Ukrainian-controlled to Russian-occupied.
Otherwise,
the Russian attacks were repelled by the Ukrainian forces,
and no other information affecting the battle map was available.
Southeast Donetsk region.
The weather in Avdiivka is cloudy.
The minimum temperature is 5 degrees Celsius and the maximum is 11 degrees Celsius.
The weather forecast for today is cloudy.
The weather is expected to improve and the temperature is expected to drop to around 0 degrees Celsius.
Here is an update on the situation in Audi Iuka,
Malinka and Bukhredar areas.
Avdiivka area
The Russians have attacked this area 29 times.
Ukrainian military commander Tarnavsky said that the Russians had carried out the largest number of air and artillery strikes this year,
and a Russian military blogger claimed 60 glide bomb attacks in the past day.
1.
The Russians advanced south of the coke plant,
the largest focal point,
as a result of concentrated troops and infantry.
The Russians advanced south of the coke plant,
south of the fire station,
across the industrial road that serves as a supply line,
and further south into the field,
while the Ukrainians counterattacked in the same field,
resulting in a close encounter.
According to the location video,
the 3rd Assault Brigade is clearing Russian troops atop a Maxpro anti-mine armored vehicle in the factory shown on the map.
The video shows the location,
and although you can't see them,
you can see that the Russians have penetrated to this location.
The Maxpro was then targeted by Russian antitank guns as it entered the factory grounds,
and we can see that there was heavy fighting in that area.
The battle map extends the area of combat to the west of the industrial road.
2.
There is conflicting information in the area of the bus depot,
First,
information that the Russians have already captured the bus depot,
and information that they have not,
There is also information that they have taken over the area around the gas station on the west side,
as well as the other side of the industrial road.
Since these reports do not match the images of the 3rd assault brigade presented earlier,
there is a possibility of manipulation of information from the Russian side to lower the morale of the Ukrainian army,
and we will update the battle situation map again when we can confirm this.
There is no other information around Avdiivka that would affect the battle map,
and Ukrainian forces continue to repel Russian attacks without retreating.
Marinka area
In this sector the Russians have made 35 attacks.
The first
Focal point is Novomihailivka,
where several reports indicate that Russian forces are advancing one block further than the battle map,
with the area marked in orange.
Second.
There is unconfirmed information that the Russians attacked west of Sorodke and were eventually repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
but it took longer and the Russians were able to advance further.
This area has been added to the battle map as a contested area with an orange line.
The Ukrainian army has laid mines in the south of this area,
so the Russians are launching an offensive to bypass the mines.
South,
Zaporizhia province.
In this sector,
the Russians attacked west of Priutne and Novopokrovka,
but were repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
leaving the battlefield unchanged.
Rear Area
1.
This is from yesterday,
but there are reports of a fire at the Gazpromnevchi oil refinery in Moscow.
In the video,
flames can be seen rising above a high-rise apartment building.
Second.
This is another fire at the Mig aircraft factory on Leningradsky Boulevard in Moscow,
with 70 square meters spread over the second and third floors of the building.
Video footage shows smoke billowing from the building.
South,
Kherson Oblast.
According to Ukrainian military spokesman Natalie Khmenyuk,
Russian forces in this direction are gradually being reduced in strength,
reporting that 70% of their soldiers have already been neutralized.
In this sector,
the Russians carried out two attacks in Kulinksy.
The Russian attacks do not appear to have been very effective,
and the video shows Russian troops retreating into a wooded area at the location indicated on the map.
There is no change to the battle map.
Other.
The UK's International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) estimated that Russia could last two to three more years if it continued special military operations at its current rate of vehicle losses.
The IISS analyzed that although Russia lost more than 3,000 armored vehicles last year and 8,000 cumulatively,
it has had vehicles retrieved and reconditioned from 10 storage depots and probably brought back 3,650 tanks,
infantry fighting vehicles,
and armored personnel carriers last year.
That's all for today.
Thank you for watching.
