Situation in Ukraine
It has been 817 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses were 1,400 soldiers
14 tanks
35 armored fighting vehicles
50 artillery pieces
2 multiple rocket launchers
4 air defense systems
81 drones
1 cruise missile
1 ship
62 other vehicles.
There were more than 90 ground battles reported in a single day across the entire front.
Russian forces on the offensive in the land battles still continue to suffer high losses of over 1,200 soldiers.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 3.3 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
Losses on the Russian side are mostly infantry fighting vehicles,
tanks,
and armored fighting vehicles; conversely,
losses of artillery,
tanks,
and infantry fighting vehicles are observed on the Ukrainian side.
Now,
here is the war situation in each region.
I will focus on the areas where the war situation has changed.
You can follow the changes with the date if you use the full screen on the big screen.
Northeast,
toward Harkiv
It has been 10 days since the Russians invaded along the border in Harkiv.
The weather in Harkiv is sunny.
Minimum temperature 11 degrees Celsius,
maximum 20 degrees Celsius.
The weather forecast for today is also cloudy.
In this direction,
Russian troops are concentrating all their efforts on capturing Vovchansk,
aiming to complete the first phase of the operation.
Liptsi sector
In this sector,
the Russians are attacking Hlyboke,
south of Lukyantsi,
and Zelene,
but the Ukrainian forces are repulsing them,
leaving the battle map unchanged.
Bovtyansk Area
As reported at the beginning of this report,
the Russians are giving top priority to the capture of Bovtyansk,
and the 138th and 25th Motorized Rifle Brigades are attacking toward the center of the city,
pushing the Ukrainian forces into the city,
resulting in a fierce urban battle north of the Bovtyansk River.
1st.
According to the positional video,
the Russians advanced in an attack along the eastern side of the city center,
aiming to isolate Ukrainian forces north of the Bohucha and make logistics difficult.
The image shown is of the area indicated on the map,
where Russian soldiers are looting goods from houses.
We have updated the battle map of this area and its surroundings from Ukrainian-controlled to Russian-occupied.
2nd.
Based on multiple reports,
Russian troops are advancing in the city center,
and the latest reports indicate that they have advanced as far as Haryana Street,
which runs through the middle of the public facilities,
and we have updated the battle map to show that Russian troops have occupied that area.
3rd.
Similarly,
on the west side of the city center,
the Russian forces are considered to have advanced as far as Teravina Street from the position of the Ukrainian drone attack,
and the battle map has been updated to show that the Russians have occupied the area up to that point.
This brings the area to about 7 square kilometers.
4th.
On the contrary,
Ukrainian forces bombed the Central Hospital,
and dozens of Russian soldiers at this location were apparently called to hell.
The battle map has been updated to show the hospital as a disputed area from the Russian-occupied area.
5th.
On the other side,
the Ukrainian army sent infantry to attack the checkpoint at the entrance to the city shown on the map,
but the Russians counterattacked with artillery and tanks,
the attack failed,
and the Ukrainians withdrew.
The Russian side is shown here,
with the Ukrainian troops moving in,
the Russians counterattacking with artillery and tanks,
and the Ukrainians retreating.
There is no change in the battle map here.
The Russians are using small-scale infantry penetration tactics to get behind the Ukrainian forces,
while at the same time sending vehicles and highly skilled soldiers from Russian territory to apply pressure toward the city center.
The next few days will determine if the Ukrainian army can hold the north side of the Bohcha River.
Northeast,
toward Luhansk Oblast
Eastern part,
toward Bakhmut
The following is an update on the situation in the area from Kupyansk to Bakhmut.
The Russians attacked 11 times in Kupyansk,
6 times on the Svatove-Kreminna line and around Sivelsk,
and 15 times in ChasivYar.
Kupyansk area
At Berestove,
northwest of Svatove,
the Russians attacked and advanced as far north as the settlement.
After a Russian tank stepped on a mine and was repulsed by Ukrainian troops during an attack on the Harkiv-Luhansk border on August 16,
Russian troops attacked straight from north of the town,
closing the gap to the outer edge of the settlement where Ukrainian troops were waiting,
and Russian troops shelled the settlement of Berestove.
The Russians shelled the settlement of Berestove.
The battle map has been updated to show the Russian advance to this location.
ChasivYar Area
1st.
East of Canal,
the Russians are on the offensive and attempting to enter the city.
The image shown is from the Russian side.
Russian vehicles are rushing into the city at high speed in turn,
and some of them are reaching the city center.
What we are showing you is the Ukrainian side,
where the Russian vehicles are trying to advance through the forested area and into the Canal at high speed,
dodging the shelling of the Ukrainian troops.
We have updated the battle map to show a portion of the eastern side of the Canal as an expansion of the disputed area.
Second.
We have finally received some confirming information on Klishchiivka,
where we have been reporting that there seems to be something going on for the past few days.
According to the video with location information,
we can confirm that there was a ground battle at this location,
with damage to a Ukrainian Army Bushmaster armored vehicle and a Russian Army BMP2 infantry fighting vehicle south of the settlement of Klishchiivka.
What we are showing you is the video from the Russian side and the location shown on the map.
Since the Russian soldiers are the ones filming this video,
it is assumed that the Russian soldiers are very deep into the area.
Klishchiivka was recaptured by the Ukrainian army last July,
and the battle map has been updated to include this location as an extension of the disputed territory.
Russian troops have also been attacking Ukrainian positions south of the village shown on the map with drones,
making this location the front line for the Ukrainian army.
Southeast Donetsk Oblast.
The following is an update on the situation in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka,
and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka area
Marinka
The Russians attacked 23 times in the direction of Avdiivka and 11 times in the direction of Marinka.
1st.
On Highway H20,
west of Oleksandropil,
unconfirmed information indicates that there is a ground battle and Russian troops may be advancing.
According to video footage with location information,
Russian forces conducted airstrikes on Oleksandropil and the mapped Ukrainian positions to the west,
followed by a ground assault,
which may have advanced as far as two fields,
according to unconfirmed information.
The battle map has been updated to show the extent of the disputed area as an expansion of the battle area.
A little bit of map drawing shows that Konstantinovka is 25 km away from this H20,
and the Russians may be trying to expand their front in this direction.
2nd.
In Soloviove,
Novopokrovske,
and Umanske,
Russian attacks have been repulsed by Ukrainian forces,
but Russian forces are persistently trying to advance in various locations,
and it is possible that Russian forces are advancing in a narrow area that cannot be drawn on a battle map at different locations.
For example,
according to the video with location data,
at the location shown on the map southwest of Soloviove,
Russian soldiers are advancing little by little,
pretending to be dead,
then advancing,
then picking up their guns and advancing,
then pretending to be dead,
and this is being observed by a Ukrainian military drone.
What we are showing you is from the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army,
and we can't show you all of it very well,
so we will post it on the telegram.
For now there is no change in the battle map.
Vuhledar sector
In this sector,
the Russians made three attacks at Urozhane and Staromaiorsk,
but there is no information that would affect the battle map.
Southern Zaporizhia Province
Southern province of Kherson
In this sector,
the Russians sent infantry to occupy Robotyne and attacked Krinky four times.
Robotyne
In Robotyne,
Russian soldiers have taken over buildings in small groups,
and Ukrainian drones are searching and attacking them.
According to the location-based video,
Russian soldiers covered in dust are indicating their willingness to surrender at the location indicated on the map,
which suggests that Russian troops have occupied this area or are close to it.
The Russians are also attempting to keep Ukrainian troops away from Robotyne by projecting hot-air bombs into Ukrainian positions around Robotyne.
As reported in yesterday's video,
the Ukrainian troops are not believed to be in Robotyne,
but it is highly likely that the attacking Russian forces are also depleted and short of troops,
so it is unclear at this point whether they will be able to occupy Robotyne.
Here is a brief news report on the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to watch where necessary.
1st.
As we reported in yesterday's video,
there were large-scale simultaneous drone attacks in Crimea,
Krasnodar,
and elsewhere,
and we have received a little more information.
First,
we have information that the Krashchevskaya military airfield in Krasnodar was hit by a drone attack by the Ukrainian Security Service SBU and unmanned systems units,
with Su34,
Su25,
Su27,
and MiG31 being present at the location.
The Russian MoD says that 57 drones were shot down,
and two videos show the sound of engines followed by explosions and flashes of light.
The extent of the damage could be severe for Russia.
The airfield was also attacked on April 28 last month,
making it the latest in a series of successful attacks.
There were also drone attacks on oil refineries in Krasnodar on April 18 and 19,
and the Slavyansk oil refinery announced on Sunday that it had suspended operations.
2nd.
Also in Sevastopol,
Crimea,
the Black Sea Fleet's minesweeper Kovrovets and Russia's newest missile boat Cyclone were attacked and both sank.
Of the two,
the Kovrovets was announced a successful attack by the Ukrainian Navy.
Video footage shows that the sky frequently brightened and what appeared to be interceptor missiles could be seen,
indicating that there were multiple explosions.
The Russian missile boat "Cyclone" was also hit by two ATACMS,
sinking the ship,
and six more Russian military personnel were called to hell and 11 others were injured.
This was a remarkable feat,
as the ship was sunk by a ballistic missile.
The ship can launch eight Kalibr cruise missiles,
making it Russia's newest missile boat.
Third.
In addition,
an explosion was reportedly observed at the Vyborz oil depot in Leningrad around 4:00 a.m.,
followed by a fire.
Please see the following for a summary of attacks in Russia this week.
By the contributor's count,
there have been 14,
meaning that Russia is being attacked at a rate of two per day,
which means that Russia's air defenses are next to none.
In response,
Russia has reportedly gathered a third of its available strategic bombers in one location and is preparing for a major air strike.
Fourth.
Britain announced a new military aid package for Ukraine,
providing 80 air defense missiles,
1 million rounds of ammunition,
and 20 Viking armored vehicles.
Also according to Bild,
the German MoD has asked the government for an additional 3.8 billion euros in military aid for Ukraine.
Germany had allocated 7.1 billion euros for military aid to Ukraine in this year's budget,
but most of the money has already been spent,
leaving only 300 million euros.
That's all for today.
