Situation in Ukraine
It has been 814 days since Russia invaded Kyiv.
First,
a general matter.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,
Russian losses were 1,410 soldiers
18 tanks
14 armored fighting vehicles
38 guns
1 multi-role rocket
2 air defense systems
2 aircraft
1 helicopter
45 drones
63 other vehicles.
The entire front reported 140 ground battles in one day.
One by one the Russian forces are losing combat capability,
but the infantry continues to advance.
And the ratio of the number of losses of Ukrainian equipment to Russian losses,
which can be visually confirmed,
is 1 to 1.9 compared to the number of losses on the Ukrainian side.
Losses on the Russian side are dominated by tanks,
infantry fighting vehicles,
military trucks,
and civilian trucks; conversely,
losses on the Ukrainian side are marked by guns,
pickups,
and armored vehicles.
As we reported yesterday,
we know that the Russians are sending soldiers to the front lines and using drones to find and destroy Ukrainian artillery and supply vehicles that pose a threat to their infantry.
Now,
here is the battle situation in each region.
I will focus on the areas where the war situation has changed.
You can follow the changes with the date if you use the full screen view on the big screen.
Northeast,
toward Harkiv
It has been seven days since the Russians invaded along the border in Harkiv.
The weather in Harkiv is cloudy.
The minimum temperature is 0 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 17 degrees Celsius.
The weather forecast for today is rain.
According to Ukrainian military spokesman Voloshin,
Ukrainian forces are partially stabilizing the situation in the Harkiv area,
but the situation remains unpredictable.
The Royal United Services Institute RUSI also reports that the Ukrainian military has seen a shortage of surface-to-air missiles,
allowing Russian reconnaissance aircraft to fly freely behind the front lines in Harkiv.
Meanwhile,
Russia is reportedly obstructing civilian evacuations in Vovchansk,
locking civilians in basements,
executing civilians,
and taking hostages,
an incident that could rival the massacres of civilians in Bucha and Izyum.
The UN reported at least 142 incidents of Russian forces executing Ukrainian civilians last December,
and the Institute for the Study of War has analyzed that Kremlin propaganda in the first two years of the war has created a feeling among Russians that Ukrainians do not exist,
leading to the execution of civilians in the occupied territories The report also states that the Kremlin's propaganda has led to the execution of civilians in occupied territory.
Lipsi direction.
Russian forces advanced toward Lipsi southwest of Lukyantsi while their advance was halted at Hlyboke.
1st.
In the settlement of Hlyboke,
the Russian attack was repulsed by the Ukrainian forces and the battle map remains unchanged.
The front line is believed to be near the center of the settlement,
as shown on the battle map.
2nd.
To the east,
from the position of the Ukrainian drone attack,
the Russians are advancing along the road to Lipsi and the Lipets River to the east of it,
and the battle map has been updated to show the area as partially occupied by Russian forces from Ukrainian-controlled and disputed lands.
The map shown here shows a group of Russian infantry advancing on foot outside of Lipsi,
the southernmost of these areas,
as observed by Ukrainian forces.
We have updated the battle map to this location,
assuming that the Russians have advanced to this location.
The area is about 1.5 square kilometers.
The Russian military has deployed units of the 30th and 41st Motorized Rifle Regiments and the 128th Motorized Rifle Brigade in this direction,
and the Ukrainian Defense Institute has indicated that reserve forces may have been depleted there.
Bovtyansk area
1st.
In Buhruvatka,
armored vehicles have been deployed by the Russian Army's 1st Tank Division and 47th Tank Division to attack around the west of Bohruvatka.
The Ukrainian army is using the road we reported yesterday as a line of defense,
but there are reports that some units have evaded the attack and reached the bridge over the Donets River,
and the Russians are attempting to cut off the main road connecting Staricha and Bovtyansk.
What we are showing you is from the Ukrainian side and is in the vicinity of the locations indicated on the map.
There are no changes to the battle map at this time.
2nd.
In Bovtyansk,
the urban war has started at the stage reported in yesterday's video.
According to the video with location information,
Russian troops can be seen operating in the hospital mapped by the Russian military.
The video shows Russian soldiers stepping out of the hospital's entrance sheathing.
Since the Russian troops are believed to have reached the hospital through the forest,
the battle map was updated to show that the Russian troops occupied up to this hospital and the area north of the Bohucha River as disputed territory.
Third.
At the end of yesterday's video,
we showed you a street view image of the airfield where old fighter jets were lined up.
Based on several pieces of information,
we have updated the battle map to show that the area around this airfield is occupied by Russian troops.
4th.
The Russians seem to have a relative advantage in drones,
and we have information that three Ukrainian tanks were damaged by drone strikes south of Bovtyansk.
On the other hand,
there is some information that the Russian army has already suffered heavy losses and its combat capability has already been reduced.
As can be seen in the battle map,
the number of attack axes has decreased over the past few days,
the Russian military has exhausted its reserve units,
and there is information that the Russian military is pulling out forces from the Kupyansk area and deploying them due to lack of strength.
According to the latest intelligence,
the Russian military advance has slowed to a minimum,
and some analysts believe that it has virtually stopped.
An analysis by the Institute for the Study of War states that the Russian forces launched an attack at an abandoned position without the forces in place to achieve their operational objectives in Harkiv.
Northeast,
in the direction of Luhansk Oblast
Eastern part,
toward Bakhmut
The following is a report on the war situation in the area from Kupyansk to Bakhmut.
The Russians attacked 20 times in Kupyansk,
2 times on the Svatove-Kreminna line,
5 times around Sivelsk,
and 5 times in ChasivYar.
Kupyansk Area
The Russians advanced from Khlovmalne,
attacking Pishchane to the west and Berestove to the south.
According to the video with location data,
Ukrainian troops destroyed a Russian T80 tank on the northern outskirts of Berestove,
confirming that the Russians had reached the Harkiv-Luhansk border.
What we are showing you is the 110th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army and the location shown on the map.
The battle map has been updated to show that area as occupied by Russian troops from the disputed territory.
The area is about 2 square kilometers.
In the direction of Pishchane,
Russian troops may be advancing slightly,
but details are unknown,
so the area of disputed territory has been expanded.
In the direction of ChasivYar
1st.
In Bohodanivka,
Ukrainian forces counterattacked and advanced.
According to the positional video,
Russian troops are conducting drone strikes in the locations indicated on the map,
and the presence of Ukrainian troops in the settlement can be seen.
The Russian side is shown here,
and the location is shown on the map.
This location was occupied by Russian troops at the end of April,
and we have updated the battle map from the Russian-occupied area to the disputed area.
2nd.
In Klishchiivka,
there is a video purportedly showing Ukrainian troops shelling a Russian Orthodox Church building in the city center,
and there is a possibility that Russian troops are launching an offensive from the north,
resulting in a ground war.
We will update you with more details as they become available.
Southeast Donetsk Oblast
The following is an update on the situation in the areas of Avdiivka,
Marinka,
and Vuhledar.
Avdiivka area
Marinka
The Russians attacked 18 times in Avdiivka and at least 5 times in Marinka,
all of which were repulsed by Ukrainian forces.
South of Pobieda,
the Ukrainians counterattacked and improved their tactical position,
but the area was too small to be reflected on the battle map.
The Vuhledar sector
The Russians made 22 attacks in this sector,
with ground battles at Urozhane and Staromaiorsk,
but there was no information to affect the battle map.
Southern Zaporizhia Province
Southern province of Kherson
In this sector,
the Russians attacked four times at Robotyne and five times at Krinky.
The battle map was updated at Velbove,
where the Ukrainian army withdrew from the salient due to the consolidation of the Ukrainian lines,
reduced the Ukrainian recaptured territory east of the Slovikhin line,
and occupied part of the disputed territory by the Russians.
The area is about 3 square kilometers.
That's all for today.

Here is a brief news report on the situation in Ukraine.
You can also use YouTube's chapter feature to watch where you need to.
1st.
A periodic report of the British Ministry of Defense analyzed the economy of Ukraine under the wartime economy and found it to be relatively stable and resilient.
There is a big difference between Russia and Ukraine in the economic analysis: Russia does not receive economic support from other countries,
and official statistics are made up and published far from the actual situation,
whereas Ukraine receives economic support from developed countries and neighboring countries.
In addition,
the periodic report analyzes that Ukraine's economic growth rate is likely to be 5% in 2023 and 3% this year,
after contracting sharply to -29% in 2022 due to Russia's attack on infrastructure facilities.
Inflation is also on a downward trend,
and while it was 26% in 2022,
the latest April figure was much lower at 3.2%.
The analysis also showed that a good crop harvest,
continued recovery in consumption,
and the effects of rising wartime costs will gradually fade away.
The economic situation in Ukraine is improving,
and the National Bank of Ukraine's policy rate,
which at one point stood at 25%,
was lowered to 13.5% at the end of April of this year,
providing economic confirmation that the effects of Russia's attacks inside Ukraine are fading.
Second.
The results of the attack on the Belbek airfield in Crimea,
which we reported in yesterday's video,
are now clear,
with experts analyzing that it was probably completely destroyed and rendered inoperable for a long period of time.
The attack was carried out over a period of two days with ATACMS ballistic missiles,
and the Storm Shadow cruise missiles and Scalp missiles may have been used simultaneously.
In yesterday's video we reported the destruction of the air defense radar,
but satellite imagery revealed today clearly shows that at least two MiG31s and an ammunition depot were destroyed.
Since the attack used cluster warheads,
it is likely that there was other damage as well,
which is not evident in the satellite images.
3rd.
Ukraine has begun mass production of FPV drones that automatically recognize and attack targets.
Details are not available,
but several thousand drones are expected to be shipped this month.
According to an interview with the representative of the company,
Babenko,
the drones use thermal imaging cameras to recognize images and lock on to targets,
which will improve accuracy and reduce the burden of piloting.
It is also expected to make it possible for a single person to operate multiple drones to simultaneously attack and destroy different targets in the same unit.
