I love “Les Misérables.” This is a very popular novel by Victor Hugo. And last year, I  bought an album and a DVD of this musical and a movie. 

Today, I  am writing my thinking and feeling about the ending of the story.  These actors’ line are quotations from the musical album.

In the Epilogue, Valjean die.

Cosette who is a lady raised by Valjean, and her husband Marius rushed to his bed and speak each thinking or feeling. In fact, Valjean was gone away from front of the two before they married. Marius knew why he did it, but he didn’t tell anything to Cosette.

Cosette: Papa, Papa, I do not understand! Are you alright? They said you’d gone away.

She said it when arrived at his bed. She really didn’t understand why her father gone away before and will die this time. 

In point of fact, Valjean stole a piece of bread long long ago. He was a prisoner!! However, he changed his mind when he encountered a bishop. After that, he was really kind and polite man.   Cosette only know he like that.

In other hand, Marius only know that he was prisoner when he gone. However,  he got a chance to know about Valjean’s good deeds, for example, Valjean brought wounded Marius from barricade to home, Cosette. And, he said.

Marius: Cosette, your father is a saint.

I  am always crying listen to these scenes!

Valjean hid the trues about himself that did good deeds, especially did to Marius. I remind the Word of the Bible when I think this his action.

 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
Matthew 6:3 

But this action separated Valjean from his lovely daughter and she was sad. In addition, Marius would had a incorrect understand about him till the last.

What a wonderful God that told Marius about the trues by an outsider!

I am really happy that I can get a thinking or feeling about God and His Words from theses little story or something.
