新旧訳聖書を読むのワ－クショップ　5回目　3回目　裁き

　人を裁く前に、自分の至らない点を見つめて、新約聖書では人のおがくずを指摘する前に、自分の眼にある丸太を取り除けと
書いてある。

　誰が誰を裁くのだろう。法哲学を学んでいるとその奥に、宗教を感じたことを覚えている。社会を維持するための刑法を学ぶと
自分の心の規範、意志、故意、過失、理性を考える。社会が自分を裁くのか、自分が自分を、人を裁くのか、神が自分を裁くのか。

　神から離れた民をノアの一族以外、すべて洪水で洗い流す。その場面と、先の新約の場面は何かが違う。そこに優しいイエスキリストの眼差し
を私は感じる。

Workshop on Reading the Old and New Testaments, Session 5, Session 3: Judgment

Before judging others, we should reflect on our own shortcomings. The New Testament says to remove the plank from your own eye before pointing out the speck in someone else's.

Who judges whom? Studying legal philosophy, I've felt religion lurking beneath its depths. Learning about criminal law to maintain society makes one contemplate one's own moral compass, will, intent, negligence, and rationality. Is it society that judges me, do I judge myself or others, or does God judge me?

God washed away all but Noah's family from a people who had strayed from Him with a flood. There's something different between this scene and the aforementioned scene from the New Testament. In it, I feel the gentle gaze of Jesus Christ.
