Hello everyone, welcome to today’s episode of my podcast!
This podcast is about my daily life in Brisbane, Australia as a native Japanese-speaking learner of English.
This podcast is bilingual, using both English and Japanese.

今日はですね、今年の振り返りをしていきたいと思います。
In today's episode, I would like to reflect on 2023. 

今年は、ひとことで言うと結婚でバッタバタという一年だったような気がします
This year, in short, was chaotic because of getting married. 

2月にオーストラリアで籍を入れまして、6月に日本に帰り結婚式をあげました。
We got married in Australia this February and had a small wedding ceremony in June in Japan. 

つまり、2月には日本の家族がオーストラリアに来てくれて、
6月にはオーストラリアの家族を日本へ連れていき、
バタバタ続きでしたね。
It means my Japanese family came to Australia in February and I needed to take Australian family to Japan in June. 
Yes, it was super busy. 

休みという休みは全て準備だった（+両家の母のお世話・通訳）のでゆっくり休めたのはこの12月のホリデイだけのような気がしています。
Most of the holiday this year was preparation for a wedding and so on. So I finally take a rest in this Christmas Holiday. 

なにもしないぼーーーっとする日々といいますか。
I am having days to do nothing, which is amazing. 
　
この2-3日間は本当にぼーーーーーっとしています。I did not do anything for two or three days. Literally, nothing. 

他の大きな変化といえば、
この英語日記のポッドキャストを始めたことですね。
The other big difference would be starting this podcast. 

昔は、インスタグラムでやっていたんですが、
毎日投稿や、ビジュアル化するのが非常に苦手で、ポッドキャストを始めました。

I used to upload English journals on Instagram. However, it was hectic uploading the journal every day Instagenically. 
Then, I shifted to podcast to upload the journal. 

週に3回この英語日本語を交互に話していくスタイルが私には合っているかなと思います。
I feel like posting my voiced English journal three days a week in this bilingual style is suitable for my personality. 

以前は、こうしたらいいだろうなということをやりすぎて、
続けることができなかったんですよね。
100個毎日配信してたら疲れちゃいました。

I used to create the journal for the audience such as choosing three key vocabulary and so on. But I could not keep posting the style after 100 videos as it made me tired of creating something new. 

今年は、年間通して定期的に更新していくこと。
これがやはり、大きな目標でした。
My aim for this year was to create new content constantly throughout the year. It was my goal. 

1つのいいコンテンツが作れたとしても、
継続できなければ意味がないかなぁと。
短距離走ではなく長距離走を目指してみました。

Although I could create great content, I felt it would be nothing if I did not keep creating the level of content. 
I wanted to create and upload it for a long span rather than for a short period. 

なのでシンプルなポッドキャストになってきました。
昔のように、今日の単語とか、他の英語系ポッドキャストさんがやっているようなことはやらなくなってきました。
私より、もっとすごい人たくさんいるしなぁと。

So, my podcast style changed to be as simple as possible. 
I do not choose key vocabulary like other English podcasters do. As they are much better at choosing vocabulary and explaining them. I was not sure if I needed to do it. 
　

私ができるのは、地味なオーストラリア生活を、定期的に更新することですかね。
What I can do is upload my ordinary life in Australia constantly. 

お休みはあれど、1年間コツコツ配信できたことは自分の中で大きな変化かと思います。えらいぞ私。

Although I sometimes took a rest from creating content, I am proud of myself as I could keep uploading new episodes throughout this year. 

英語学習ってやる気の波があるじゃないですか。
「やる気の波の底辺にいてもできることをやる。」
この英語勉強していますよの姿勢を見せていくことが、私だからできることかなと思います。

Motivation is a key to English learning. Although my motivation is the lowest in English learning, I will do whatever I can do. 
So showing my attitude to learn English constantly even when there is no motivation for English learning. This is what I can do as an English podcaster. 

伸び代しかないこのポッドキャストなのですが、
今後もコツコツと続けていこうと思います。

There is heaps of room to improve regarding this podcast. 
However, I will improve it as much as I can and keep posting as long as I can.
