＜Innovators＞
映画マトリックスシリーズの脚本家兼監督のLilly Wachowski氏も、Netflixでも人気となったイギリスのSFドラマ「ブラックミラー」の作品を書いたこともあるCharlie Brooker氏も、映画好き、Netflix好きの私としては、とても気にはなりましが(^_^;)

あえて自分が知らなかった人と、なんと日本人も選ばれていたのか！という驚きから次の2人を紹介しておきます。 (^ｰ^)

◆Holly Herndon
Musician

Working with technologists, Herndon created a vocal deepfake of herself in 2021, Holly+, her digital twin, by extensively training a neural network on her voice.

She created Holly+ to spur her fellow artists to reclaim agency over their careers and creative autonomy in the midst of a technological revolution she feels will dramatically shift how we make and process art.

If further protections are ensured, Herndon believes that AI could unlock new,
unprecedented waves of creativity: I think it's a huge opportunity to rethink what the role of the artist is.

Herndon set up a governance board, which now includes hundreds of people, who approve the release of "official" Holly+ songs while rejecting offensive or tasteless songs created in her voice.

常に（人間側）アーティスト側に主導権がある、状態でなら、AI技術はワクワクした沸いてこない、ものすごい可能性を秘めたツールになるはず、と思う。(^o^)

◆Rootport

Using Midjourney, an AI art generator, to conjure the illustrations and tinkering with similar AI software to patch up details it initially struggled with, like hands and food - the writer produced the first completely AI-illustrated Japanese comic, rendering almost 9,000 frames and piecing them together in panels. Titled Cyberpunk: Momotaro, Rootport's full-color manga spans 108 pages, which he says would have taken a Japanese mangaka (artist) more than a year to produce. Rootport finished in six weeks.

Superalignment team, which aims to solve the technical challenge of how to ensure superintelligent AI acts in the interests of humanity.

生まれたばかりの個体が最初に見た動くものを親と認識するなど、一定の外部刺激が特定の行動パターンを誘導する現象。

これからどんどん技術能力が強化され、やがて人間よりも賢くなることが容易に想像できるAIシステム。今のうちに、人間仕様にしっかりインプリンティングする、というわけですね(^_^;)

Professor, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Yi氏は、学生時代に スピルバーグ監督のSF映画「A.I.」を観て、インスピレーションを受けたと言います。"This is what I wanted to [do with my] life. That is, to build a robot that can love the human species"
（人類を愛することができるロボットをつくりたい！）

Yi, 41, has spent his career in Beijing as a professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences trying to build "brain-inspired intelligence" - AI systems designed to be as similar as possible to human brains - in the hope that they would have a sense of morality.

中国科学院（Chinese Academy of Sciences)の教授であったころYi Zeng氏は、人間の脳に近い知能の構築を目指していたこともありました。（人間が持つ倫理観をAIにもたせることを望んで。）

The tense geopolitical climate and China's use of AI for the mass surveillance and persecution of minorities has limited cooperation between China and the U.S. But Yi thinks that the countries have much in common in terms of attitudes toward risks from AI.

米中の対立に現れているような緊張した地政学的情勢。だけど、AI技術の危険性に対峙する姿勢ということにおいては、どの国においても共通のはず。

"We don't really have a choice," he says. "We must collaborate."
