Today’s topic is about what I learned while I played baseball for 9 years.
今日のトピックは、9年間続けた野球についてです。

I was in a baseball team from when I was in the third grade until I graduated from highschool.
私は、小学生から高校卒業まで続けた。

My friends invited me to play baseball with them.
野球を始めたきっかけは、友達の紹介だった。

I wasn’t particularly interested in it but it was fun to play baseball with the friends. 
最初は興味はなかったんだけど、友人と一緒に野球することが楽しかったので続けました。

Once I started to practice more seriously, I became motivated to improve my skills and to win the games.
野球を始めてみたら野球のスキルを高めることや試合に勝つことが楽しくなった。

I wanted to become a better player. I practiced swinging the bat and throwing the ball everyday. I also ran about 5 km everyday in the neighborhood.  
そのために、毎日素振りやキャッチボールをするようになった。
そして、毎日、家の周りを5kmを走るようにした。
 
In high school, I only had a few opportunities to play in the game because of injuries
高校では、怪我が多かったため試合でプレイすることが少なかったですね。

I played baseball for 9 years but I never became a star player.
結果的にはいい選手にはなれませんでしたが

I am proud of myself that I continued practicing for 9 years.
9年間続けたことに十分満足しています。　

Even if your dream doesn’t come true, you will learn something while you are striving toward the goal. 
自分の夢実現のために努力し続けることが大事だと学びました。
