77年目の祈り
「鉄の暴風」といわれた
苛烈な地上戦で亡くなった
２４万人あまりの名前を読みあげる
「沖縄『平和の礎』名前を読み上げる集い」
が始まったのは今月12日。
全てのお名前を読みあげるのに
10日以上かかることに、
改めて込みあげてくるものがあります。
今年もまた、
沖縄戦で自決した
海軍沖縄司令官大田実少将が、
海軍省の次官にあてて送った
最後の電文を読み返したいと思います。
「沖縄県民の実情に関しては
県知事より報告せられるべきも
県には既に通信力なく
本職 県知事より依頼を受けたるに非ざれど
現状を看過するに忍びず
之に代って緊急御通知申上ぐ
県民は青壮年の全部を防衛招集に捧げ
残る老幼女子のみが相次ぐ砲爆撃に
家屋と家財の全部を焼却せられ
僅かに身を以て
軍の作戦に差し支えなき場所の小防空壕に避難
若き婦人は率先 軍に身を捧げ
看護婦烹炊婦はもとより
砲弾運び
挺身切込み隊を申出るものあり
ひたすら日本人としての御奉公の護を胸に抱きつつ
一木一草焦土と化せん
糧食六月一杯を支えるのみなりと謂う
沖縄県民 斯く戦えり
県民に対し 後世
特別のご高配を賜らんことを」
街はすっかり選挙モード。
声をはりあげて
お願いコールをくり返す選挙カーが正午、
いっせいにピタリと止まり、
静かに黙祷を捧げる光景が見たい、
そう思うのは私だけでしょうか。
沖縄の海を想いながら弾きました🙏
あの海に散った方々のために祈ってね💙

“The people of Okinawa must fight like this
May the people of Okinawa be granted special blessings in future generations.”
77yeas years have passed since then
The town is in full election mode.
Campaign cars,
which were shouting back and forth,
came to a sudden halt at noon.
stopped at once, and
and silently offer a silent prayer.
Am I the only one who thinks so?
I played the piano
while thinking of the sea of Okinawa.
Pray for those scattered on that sea 💙.
