新年あけましておめでとうございます。今年も超絶マイペースで「英検１級だけ」をマンツーマンレッスンし、日本の学校ではあまり習わないことを英語ネイティヴ風味にお届けしたり、しなかったりしてまいります。noteも、気が向いたら更新しちゃったりします（もっと頑張って更新しろよ）。今回は、前に書いた ”move on”の記事 が方々で好評でしたので第２弾のオシャレな表現シリーズです。

依然として疫病（epidemic/plague/infectious disease）な時が流れていますが、お気楽にいきましょう。「疫病」はこの３つを速攻でパラフレーズできないとダメですよー（しれっと英検１級語彙を織り交ぜる）。infectious diseaseは、"infection disease"でも「可」です。ネイティヴ論文や英語メディアではinfectious diseaseの方が圧倒的に多いですけどね。"infection disease"は見出し語や日本の教材に多い説。Google検索ヒット数でも客観的に証明できます。それでもまあ、100万ヒットあれば英語ネイティヴ十分に日常語といえます。

このような質問を学生、英検１級の学習者の聞くと100%で「Take it easy.」「Be relaxed.」と答えます。間違いではありません。せっかくですので、もっと、シャレオツな表現も覚えてみましょう。

というのがあります。これ、使えると英語ネイティヴは「おお！日本人やるな！」となるでしょうねぇ。直訳は「立ち止まって、バラの匂いでもかぎなよ」で、「立ち止まって花の香りを楽しもう」→「お気楽にいこうぜ！」となります。意外にフォーマルな場でも使える表現です（逆に！）。

Mac Davisの歌が、そのまんまあります。少しの日本語の解説と、この歌を聴いておけば忘れることはないでしょう。あとは、瞬間的に出てくるかどうか。自信を持って、発話しくださいね～。Stop and smell the roses!
