Can I help you?

Can I help you?—A play by Yuichiro T.

Hi Hello, thank you for coming today. How are you? Good good. I’m Yuichiro, the head of YICA, Yuichiro International Cooperation Agency. We are a professional disaster relief organization.
Well, anyway, from the information that you kindly provided to us, United States—First name, United? Oh The United. Right, sorry, second language. Will study harder.
So the United. I was surprised to see no disaster today when I arrived. I called up my team to make sure if I’m at the right place or not. But the team told me this is where I should be, and (Sign) I see it now, (Sign) so let’s talk about a mask that you don’t want. right. Something new, isn’t it? For all of us. Certainly, we haven’t had to try them in the summer. I mean, see, you’ve really been patient. That’s a fantastic quality that you have. Like, for instance, you have him, as the president. I might be watching too much CNN, but still, you got him as a leader and stuck with him! That shows commitment.
/Please, hear me out. The man seems exceptionally unique, nothing I’ve seen before. And, you’re determined to stick with your choice. I have a lot of respect for that. Then I wonder if we can talk about “Freedom of choices”
/Hear me out.
Maybe some things are meant to be given, instead of chosen?
/Like, I gotta a story to tell. One time, I went to Berlin, east side, and met a beautiful young couple. And the girl said “Here in Berlin, there is just so much to do and I don’t really know what to do sometimes.” I didn’t know what to say because I was in Berlin, the place that took down the wall to pursue freedom. 1989! and now people there telling me they don’t know what to do with it.
and… another story, I remember, when I was a kid, my basketball coach said, “You cannot drink water” Man, coach gave us a torture. Discipline? Maybe.
But I guess that was my first experience of an anti-science moment directly leading me to life or death.
And another time, we were playing badly, 10 points behind. The coach took timeout and took us outside the gym. You know what happened? He began smacking all of us. To win? Wow, I don’t know. That was the way it was back then. No hard feeling to him now. And from that, by the age of 7, I understood how rules and superstitions can easily prevail over science.
//Good memories, though. Painful experience, and pain, yes, and,
//So to me---, I wonder if “Freedom of choices” is sort of like, a double-edged sword. You really have got to go--- “gently” otherwise you try to hit and the edge can bounce back at you, “ ahhhh, you cut yourself!!!” You really have got to go “gently” on that. Japanese Samurai sword isn’t double-edged, just for reference.
/I’m just saying this, since I heard that you know a lot about weapon, you like weapons. As I hear, you are the #1 country on civilian owned guns---Yemen is 2nd , and Serbia is 3rd---And a handgun costs the same as a Chrome book there. /I just thought that it is easier to get your understanding, and I see your commitment there, I didn’t mean to offend you or anything.
//As far as I see right, we wear all sorts of things! Clothes, underwear, makeup, condom, and no offense, but did I hear anything about expressing “Freedom of your choices” when it comes to wearing a condom?
“Girl, I don’t want the government to tell me what to do about us, so I ain’t wearing no condom, we good?”
“What!? Are you fuckin’ outta your mind? Put on your damn condom or I’ll kick you outta here!”
/Sorry, I got carried away. So we wear things. We wear costumes, cosplay, wearable devices, wearable pc, wearable wolf, werewolf. That’s different? Wear, wolf.
/what other things? Halloween? There you go. Halloween’s been huge in Japan these days. We discovered Halloween to distract ourselves from reality. I should thank you and China for that.
/Yeah of course. All costumes come from China. Everything.
/There is no made in Japan “iron man” Halloween costume. It could be “designed in” somewhere, but thanks to China, we get it at 100 yen store, I mean, like a dollar store.
/And I see also your commitment here? To reduce the price of products?
//Here is a story to tell, the election, upcoming, products. they are almost all made in …again, China. So so these guys making the products for you, could tell you the odds! They are pretty sure who will win! Out of the amount of election products sales they’re making.
//I just thought it is easier to get your understanding,
///And--- I say, China needs you! We need you! We love you. We want you to survive! And If this little piece of thing (mask) can get us tomorrow together, what do you say?
/If the mask is not only a weapon, but can also show your love to all, what do you say?---
///Yeah, together let’s use our creativity on it then together, I mean, how about--- drawing something you like on it. Whatever you like.
/A message is good too. Like, “The United We Stand” no preposition required. pretty cool huh? Have you heard that?
I think I heard it from somewhere.
What do you think? You think we can do that together, The United?
//There you go, Alright, U, Let’s go from there then. By next appointment, can we work on designing our mask?
//Great.
We can also talk about the other thing you mentioned earlier, about the environment. Alright, I got my next call coming up now. Thank you for your time today---stay safe out there---look after yourself. Looking forward to seeing you then.
