A non-competitive Pokémon card event "Pokéka Tea Party" will be held.

Yokohama, where the Pokémon World Championships 2023 will be held, seems to be a great place to be this summer.

The week before, on Saturday, August 5, a Pokémon card event will be held just a 10-15 minute walk from Yokohama Station.

This is an event mainly for exhibition and card trading without competition. There are two main projects.

Pokemon card Trading Party - interlanguage card exchange

This is a project to trade your Pokémon cards with cards in other languages! TCG stands for Trading Card Game, and we believe that the Pokémon Card Game was created on the premise of trading. One of the early commercials featured "Torikaekko," a game in which you could trade cards with other players.

But now, more than 25 years after its birth, trading cards is not a very mainstream way to play. But wouldn't you like to try it?

Many Pokémon card players and Pokémon card fans from overseas are coming to Yokohama for the WCS.

We would love to take advantage of this rare opportunity to do some trading! This is why we will be conducting this event.

To participate:

Bring your cards that you are willing to exchange to the venue. Cards of any regulation and rarity are acceptable. We do not have any restrictions on the condition of the cards, but please avoid cards that are obviously unsuitable for exchange, such as folded or torn cards.

Cards will be exchanged for cards in different languages. You may bring an English or Chinese version.

Exchange method 1: Random exchange

We will collect the cards from you, and at some point in time, when you have accumulated a certain amount, we will make a random exchange. The timing of the exchange will be announced by the management. Please understand that if the numbers do not match, you may end up exchanging your card for a Japanese card.

Exchange Method 2: One-to-one exchange

Participants should consult with each other to make a trade. The management staff will try to minimize their involvement and respect each participant's independent judgment. However, if the staff on patrol determines that there is a problem, the trade may be terminated.

This method of exchange is based on the participation of adults. If a minor is participating, a parent or guardian must participate in the exchange decision.

Trade cancellations will only be accepted before the end of the event and only if the other party is present at the event.

Since this is intended to be a loose trade, please refrain from bringing cards of too high a rarity. Also, please refrain from exchanging counterfeit cards, authenticated cards, etc.

The One card, my favorite

More than 25 years have passed since the birth of Pokémon cards. Countless cards have been sent out into the world, and this project invites you to display one of your most memorable cards along with your feelings about it.

You can only choose one card. And the only place to express your feelings is on an A4 sheet.

I know it's a tough restriction, but why don't you share your picture in this format with everyone? We will also consider writing in English, considering that there will be players from all over the world on the day. (We will also consider writing it in English (machine translation, of course).

The call for sheets to be exhibited is explained in this article.

Other: Coin collection exhibit

We will have an exhibit where you can get a hands-on look at the files of our coin collection, which includes the majority of the coins distributed in Japan.

This is a messy exhibit where an uncle who is a coin collector will proudly talk about his coins.

Tea will be served since it is a tea party.

The purpose of this event is for everyone who attends to talk with each other.
We will prepare coffee and tea (sorry, but there will be a charge), so we hope you can relax and talk about Pokemon cards with a cup of tea in your hand.
