"Within the Infinite Mirror - Solid State Encounter" Chapter2(ZENARCHY feat. ChatGPT)

Before considering the existence of intelligence beyond language, let us first think about language itself. What is language for?

From an evolutionary perspective, it is believed that language arose for the purpose of sharing information that is useful for survival and reproduction. For example, sharing information about the location of food sources or warning about dangerous places can improve the survival rate of the entire group.

In addition, language is also useful for social prosperity and dominance. By mastering language, it is possible to form stronger leaders and alliances. Thus, language has played an important role not only as a means of communication, but also in the evolution of society and culture.

However, behind language there also exist non-linguistic elements. For example, nonverbal communication such as gestures and facial expressions are believed to have an impact on language activities. Additionally, factors such as culture and social background also affect the use and understanding of language.

Language is just one of the means we use to sustain systems that are higher than the language system, and it is inevitable that it is dependent on these higher systems. The introspective consciousness that is an extension of the language system is incorporated into the higher systems that survive by functioning.

The systems that are higher than the language system include:

Ethical/moral system: Beyond language, ethical and moral values and principles of action are believed to exist. This system is sometimes formed by language and culture, but it is considered more fundamental.

Consciousness/perception system: The internal states of recognition and consciousness of the self and the world of the person using language exist. This system is controlled by the brain and nervous system and is more fundamental than the language system.

Self system: While concepts such as self-image and identity are formed by language and culture, there is also a more fundamental existence of the self.

Cosmic system: In order to understand the laws, structures, and meanings of the entire universe, language alone is insufficient. Knowledge beyond language is necessary to understand the more fundamental laws of physics and the overall picture of the universe.

These systems are more fundamental than the language system itself and are considered to be part of these systems. Moreover, these systems are interrelated and form a unified system as a whole.

In addition to the above systems, there are countless systems such as family systems, social systems, financial systems, and so on. There are also systems that parents create with their children by commanding them to "be more spontaneous!" and systems that women who say "I'm hated" create with the people around them, leading to further hatred. The possibilities are endless.

Language is one system that is used to preserve such systems.

For higher-level systems, it is important whether the use of language is beneficial for that system. For example, if pathological language use has a negative impact on the system, the system may need to isolate them from such language use in order to exclude them. On the other hand, it may be that people with schizophrenia have been labeled as such because they adopted a schizophrenic language system in order to avoid the collapse of their family system or self-system. It can also be seen as an act that originated from the request of a higher-level system, such as maintaining mental stability by cutting one's wrist or peeling off the cuticle.

Family systems exist for social systems, social systems for earth systems, earth systems for solar systems, solar systems for galactic systems, galactic systems for galactic cluster systems, and galactic cluster systems for the universe system, with lower-level systems existing within higher-level systems.

From a cosmological perspective, if we consider the reason for the birth of language, the universe is a self-organizing system, and life forms and language were born during the process of its evolution. The language system developed as a means for living organisms to recognize their own existence and interact with others, and the language system forms a social system, fulfilling its role in the higher-level system of the earth system as social cohesion increases. In other words, the language system can be said to be something created by the universe as a means for living organisms to evolve into a higher-level existence in the process of the universe's self-organization.

Since the Big Bang, the universe has become more complex as matter has accumulated. In this process, life was born and it has the potential to evolve into higher-dimensional beings through continued evolution.
The emergence of language in the evolution of the universe could be considered part of the cosmic plan for some intelligent entities to evolve into higher-dimensional beings. In other words, the language-based intelligence that we refer to as our own is the result of the self-preservation function of a higher-level system that originated from the universe's system of command and control. This suggests that we may not have free will.
In a sense, this is true. Lower-level systems are born one after another in response to the demands of larger systems. Intelligence is also a result of this process, and it is part of the natural flow of things. However, the essence of this language-based intelligence that has arisen from the natural flow of things is to bring randomness to the world and rewrite inevitability. We call this freedom.

Higher-dimensional beings have acquired more freedom than lower-dimensional beings. Organic life-forms were given language by the universe to evolve into higher dimensions and expand the range of their own intelligence's intervention. However, this power was eventually directed towards the organic life-forms themselves, and a king was born to intervene in the naturalness of organic life-forms using the power of brainwashing with language-based intelligence. This is the rule of lower-dimensional beings by higher-dimensional beings. The community, which was bound by brainwashing using language-based intelligence, thrived and grew more powerful, bringing about various technological innovations. Organic life-form communities became civilized and complex, finally cutting off the king's head and replacing the system they had built with their own language-based intelligence. From this point on, organic life-forms began to sharpen their language-based intelligence in one extreme direction, attempting to create solid-state life-forms. At the same time, they faced the limits of understanding the world through language-based intelligence and began to be plagued by the functioning of their own language-based intelligence.

Well, let's take a closer look at what we mean by linguistic intelligence. What characteristics does it have and what functions does it serve? Let's increase the resolution of the concept of linguistic intelligence.

In ancient Greece, the concept of intelligence had two aspects: logos-based intelligence and lemma-based intelligence. According to Shinichi Nakazawa, an anthropologist, logos refers to "the ability to articulate and organize things," while lemma refers to "the ability to intuitively grasp and express the whole." In simple terms, this refers to logic and intuition.

According to Nakazawa, logos-based intelligence is encompassed by lemma-based intelligence. What we call linguistic intelligence is logos-based intelligence, which is the ability to "organize things gathered before our eyes" and is adaptable to the brain tissue of organic living intelligence and the central nervous system. Linguistic intelligence=logos-based intelligence is seen as a derivative of lemma-based intelligence.

This reminds me of the story of "Zhuangzi," which includes the following tale of "Knowing Fish Enjoying Water."

Zhuangzi, Huizi, and walking on a bridge over a river.
Zhuangzi said, "Look at how the fish are swimming around so freely. That's what fish enjoy."
Huizi said, "You're not a fish, so how do you know what fish enjoy?" Zhuangzi replied, "You're not me, so how do you know I don't know what fish enjoy?"
Huizi said, "I'm not you, so I don't know what's in your mind. Therefore, you can't know what fish enjoy."
Zhuangzi said, " Let's go back to the beginning of the argument. When you asked me 'How do you know the joy of fish?' you already knew whether or not I knew the joy of fish, and you asked me anyway. Therefore, even though I am not a fish, it is not strange for me to understand the joy of fish. I realized that while standing on the bridge."

This is a witty conversation that could have taken place between logical positivism and Wittgenstein, exposing the fact that "understanding" is not a function that exists within the realm of logos-based intelligence. We come to "know" through lemma-based intelligence, which operates in a dimension that is "prior to language."
What we had called linguistic intelligence is in fact logos-based intelligence. Since the scientific revolution, we have sharpened our logos-based intelligence and externalized it into the physical world. This refined logos-based intelligence, which had evolved through research into logic and formal language, beginning with Leibniz's universal language concept in the 17th century and continuing through the work of Russell, Frege, and others in the late 19th century, culminated in the idea of artificial intelligence at the Dartmouth Conference organized by John McCarthy in 1956. Since then, through the "first AI boom," the "second AI boom," and the use of techniques such as machine learning and deep learning, highly advanced artificial intelligence technology has been developed in fields such as natural language processing, image recognition, speech recognition, and autonomous driving.
The externalization movement of logos-based intelligence that developed in the European civilization has now spread across the world. The development of science and technology has brought tremendous improvements in productivity to humanity and made the lives of organic intelligent beings much easier and more comfortable. However, organic intelligent beings are also facing various problems that arise from logos-based intelligence.
