Three-day, two-night trip with a full recharge #1

Hey there. How’s it going? Gentle Gian is here.

I’d love to share my satisfied trip, which I call “a full recharge trip,” with you.
A few days ago, I stayed for two nights in Sendai, Miyagi.

On the first night, I met up with two teachers from my senior high.

One was my homeroom teacher in second and third grade there.
I met him in person for the first time after graduating; it was after 30 years!
He has been teaching English.
As a school student, I could never have imagined that the day would come when we would drink together.
It was amazing!

The other was an advisor for club activities to which I belonged.
I met him several times after graduating.
However, it was after 5 or 6 years due to the COVID pandemic.

I enjoyed hearing many anecdotes about other teachers.
They also shared their precious experiences with me, and I’m sure their advice will improve me.

I appreciate them from the bottom of my heart; they arranged the time for me despite their hectic schedule.
I hope to catch up again soon.

After meeting with my teachers, I visited the convenience store of someone I wanted to meet.

A convenience store was located on the first floor of my condominium in Sendai.
I used to stop by there at midnight after work every day.
An old couple owned that store and often gave me something extra, such as onigiri, anman, karaage, etc.
I was surprised when I realized something I hadn’t bought in my shopping bag the first time.

After a while, their convenience store moved nearby.
However, since they worked only at night shift and I had a baby then, I couldn’t say goodbye before leaving Sendai.
I’ve been concerned about whether they’ve been well.
Luckily, I had an opportunity to stay in Sendai this time: I chose the hotel opposite their convenience store.

Finally, I reunited with the couple’s wife, whom I called “Obachan.”
Surprisingly, she taught me she was 81, but she looked never changed!
I was glad to see her again, but I heard her husband passed away a few years ago.
I’m so sorry to hear that.
However, we promised to see again.

I’d like to write more, but that’s all for today. See you around.
