2分ちょいのCNNの英語インタビューがあったので、字幕を参考にしつつディクテーション的に書き起こしてみる。和訳は素人翻訳なのでご容赦ください。オーストリアのメディアだとドイツ語メインなので、英語のものがあって助かった。早口になるとしんどいな～。

But also I know realistically
I'm not supposed to win here.
So, it was just incredible

I couldn't believe it.

What do you think it was thought that gave you that opportunity to be a gold medalist?

I think it might well in part.
It's because I dare to be different.
I have a different approach.
And this means that I'm also unpredictable.
And that's exactly what happened yesterday.
People didn't predict, 
People didn't think that I might win.

Being an academic, you know, mathematician as you're riding these races, Does that ever come into your mind in any form or fashion?

Once actually when I'm riding hard there's not enough blood and oxygen in my brain to do math.
In the lead-up to race, It just an analytical mindset that makes me approach to it differently.
So I really make a plan, 
I think about what power,
I'm going to put out at what point of the race,
How I have to plan my nutrition and so on.

実際、ハードな走りをしているときには、脳に十分な血液と酸素がないので数学はできませんが（笑）
レースに向けて、分析的なマインドセットで異なったアプローチをしているにすぎません。
ですので、私は計画を練ります。
パワーについても考え、
レースのどのポイントでに力を出していくか、
どのような栄養計画をたてるか、などなど。

Have you heard from any of your students?

I’ve heard from my colleagues, I guess students  I mean they wouldn't contact me, but I know that students are always googling the name of their teacher.
So, In my case, in the past, actually I had students following my cycling and wishing me good luck with the new Aristarchus coming up. That's pretty funny. 

同僚から少し聞いています。学生たちは私にコンタクトを取ることはしませんが、しかし彼らはいつもGoogleで先生の名前を調べていることは知っています。私の場合、昔、実際に学生たちが私のサイクリングの応援をし、新たな数学者となることを祈ってくれたことがあります。面白いですね。

レースの間、誰のことを考えていましたか？

My family. I knew they were watching.
I visualized them in front of the screen already like from the start of the race.
I knew all the right.
They were getting up at 6am in Austria to watch me.
My mother had actually prepared for weeks like how to set up the live stream.
Yeah, I was thinking of them of some past coaches I have, of friends who were my motivation. 

家族。彼らが観戦しているのを知っていました。
レーススタートの時には、画面の前に家族がいることを想像しました。
大丈夫だと思いました。
彼らはオーストリアで朝6時に起きて私を観ているだろうと。
母は1週間準備していました、それこそライブ中継をどう見るかって。
昔のコーチや、私のモチベーションとなる友人のことも考えていました。
