あまりにも英語しゃべれないので日英で日記を書くことにしました。続くかな、、

今日は旧正月でホステルで出会ったお友達とChinatownあたりで行われるChinese Paradeに行きました。

日本ではあまり馴染みがないけど中国、韓国、台湾、ベトナム、マレーシア等アジアの多くの国では旧正月を祝う文化があるらしい。移民としてカナダに溶け込んでいながらも自分たちの文化に誇りを持っているのがすごいと思いました。中国とカナダの国旗を並んでるのがすごく印象的。

I'm trying to write diaries in both English and Japanese because I have to improve my English. I'm not sure if I can contiue it.
Today is Lunar New Year. The Chinatown Spring Festival Parade took place in Chinatown neighborhood and I went there with my hostel friends. Lunar New Year is not familiar to Japanese but people in many asian countries like China (including Hong Kong) Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and Maraysia usually celebrate it. I was so impressed that people from China is proud of their original country's culture though they has completely blended into Canada as immigrants. The two natinal flag standing side by side was so impressive.
