気温が上がるとともに南風をあらわす”温風”が吹いてくる頃。梅雨が明け始め蒸し暑い日が増えてくる頃です。

さて、7月7日の七夕。中国伝来の乞巧奠(きっこうでん)ものと日本古来の風習が複雑に重なって今日の形になりました。 棚機女(たなばたつめ)や織女(しょくじょ)伝説に結びついて裁縫や織物、乞巧奠の儀式に結びついて書道や詩歌の上達を願ったとされています。平安時代にはこの時期、箪笥や着るものを整えたり、文房具や机周りを手入れしたりする習わしもあったそうです。

昔の習わしを取り入れて、ちょっと違った七夕を過ごしてみませんか？

七十二候ってなに？
日本には一年を24に分けた二十四節気（にじゅうしせっき）と、さらにその二十四節気を３つずつ合計72に分けた七十二候（しちじゅうにこう）という季節があります。
