You don't know how long I've been waiting for you.  I was born with a weak constitution that made it difficult to conceive, so at one point I was worried that I would have to give up having children. My husband told me that we would be fine with no kids. However, becoming a mother had been my lifelong dream since I was little. That feeling grew stronger after I found out that my mother, your grandmother, was suffering from cancer. Finally, I decided to choose fertility treatment.  I really wanted my mother to hold her grandchild.  A lot of medicines and self-injections, poor health due to side effects, tons of money, an inferiority complex that I can’t do what normal women can do...  But they all paid off when I got pregnant with you.  You were born seven months after my mother passed away. I believe this was a baton of life. It’s been two years since I became a mother.  Many things are still difficult and there is no right answer for raising a child, so every day is a series of trials and errors and failures.  But all the hugs and kisses that you give me are my rewards above all else. Dear daughter, thank you for giving me such a joy of life.  Thank you for making my dream of becoming a mother come true.  I am beyond grateful just to have you in my life.

You were one of the strays waiting to be adopted, and I took a shine to you. Long whiskers, golden eyes and pointed ears. You were such a beautiful tabby cat. As I stood still in front of your cage, your owner said to me, “She's very friendly. I found her sitting alone in a parking lot. As soon as our eyes met, she came over to me and meowed. I thought she could live with people, so I protected her."

That day, my husband and I decided to live with you. And we also decided not to have a baby. I do remember that day because it was both a happy and a sad day for me. I don't know if our decision was right, but one thing I can say for sure is that I am so happy to have met you. Really and truly. Looking back, I was stuck in my life at the time, but thanks to you, I was able to move on. I settled down mentally, and started studying English. Best of all, I have always felt loved since that day. And I'm glad if you feel the same way.
