I watched the film Sound of Metal. It is the story of a drummer who loses his hearing. It uses effective sound design to add realism to depicting his hearing loss and exquisitely portrays his internal struggle with the life-changing crisis. Brilliant film!
 I am also impressed with “journaling” in the film. The drummer is required by the principal of a deaf-mute school to take time to sit still and meditate every day and do journaling with a paper and pen if he fails to sit still. I empathized with his experience that the journaling has gradually induced him to change and calm his mind.

　アマゾンプライムで、「サウンド・オブ・メタル」を観た。ドラマーの耳が聞こえなくなる様を描いた作品です。音響を使って、聴覚を失う状態をリアルに表現しています。また、人生の危機に直面したドラマーの心の葛藤が見事に表現されています。秀逸の作品。
　映画の中で「ジャーナリング」が取り上げられていたのも印象的です。ドラマーは、ろうあ学校の校長に、荒れた気持ちを整理するため、毎日じっと座る時間を作るよう指示されます。じっと座っていられない場合は、ジャーナリングをするようにとノートとペンを渡されます。ジャーナリングを通して、ドラマーの気持ちが落ち着くまでの心の変化に共感しました。
