I was born and had lived in Kyoto City until I graduated from university. However, I do not know much about temples and shrines in Kyoto. When I lived there, I was not interested in them at all. It seemed to me that they were just obsolete buildings. I was neither faithful nor religious for them. I had never visited famous temples and shrines like Kinkaku-ji and Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
 Since I get married, I have begun visiting them since my wife likes them. Surprisingly, I had a good time there. In particular, I like seeing gardens and Buddha statues. There must be some changes in my mind about them as I get older.
 However, I still do not understand their real values.

　ボクは多い京都市の出身で、大学を卒業するまで住んでいました。でも、ボクは、京都の神社仏閣のことはまったく分かっていません。住んでいた頃は、神社仏閣には全く興味がなく、寺や神社は古くさいというイメージしかありませんでした。信仰心はまったくなく、金閣寺や清水寺等の有名なところはいったことがありませんでした。
　結婚してからは、僕の奥さんが好きなので、神社仏閣を訪れるようになりました。行ってみると、以外と楽しかったです。特に、仏像や庭園が好きです。年と重ねて、気持ちに変化があったのでしょう。
　でも、お寺や神社の本当の価値がいまだによくわかっていません。
