The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup is now taking place in Australia and New Zealand. Japan beat Zambia in their opening match on July 22. They also beat Costa Rica on July 26. They are still in the beginning stage, but they make me expect to do much better than in the last few cups. They have been in a slump since winning the championship in the Cup held in Germany 12 years ago. I feel the current team has improved and is much better than before. In particular, I can see significant changes in attack. They have improved their speeds and combinations. As a result, I can expect them to score a lot more goals than before. It was proven by the match with Zambia, scoring five goals. The team has already won two games and got through the group league. But today, they will be against Spain for the final match of the group league. Spain is one of the football giants. I hope that Japan will beat Spain to gain further momentum.
I also expect Japan to reach the quarter-final. It is expected to be against Norway or Switzerland in the first match of the knockout round. But they will not be too hard to beat. I really hope that they get to the final and let me enjoy the excitement again I had when they won the Cup in Germany.

　サッカー女子ワールドカップが開幕しました。日本は22日の初戦でザンビアに快勝し、26日のコスタリカも撃破しました。まだ始まったばかりで、強豪とも対決していませんが、今回の日本チームは期待感があります。12年前のドイツ大会での優勝以降は低迷していましたが、そのころよりチーム力がアップしていると感じました。特に、オフェンス時にスピード感があり、連係もいいので、ゴールが生まれる期待感がはるかにあがっています。それを証明したのが、初戦のザンビア戦です。すでに２勝しているので、決勝トーナメント進出は確定していますが、今日のスペイン戦で勝利し、勢いをつけていただきたいです。
　また、トーナメント戦の初戦の相手は、スイスかニュージランドなので、勝手ベスト8に進出できる可能性が高いと思います。
　今回は、是非とも決勝戦に進出し、ドイツ大会の興奮をもう一度味わいたいと願っています。そして、国内のなでしこリーグの盛り上がりも期待しています
