On the 23rd of January, my birthday, I went to see Akashiya Sanma-san’s play. The play, which is called ‘Ikarugano Oji’ (Prince in Ikaruga), was held at the IMM Theatre in the Tokyo Dome. It was about a private war between ruling families in the seventh century. In the play, Sanma-san acted as Shotoku Taishi and was supported by ten leading or promising actors. Among the actors were Akiyoshi Nakao, Kei Otozuki, Yoichi Nukumizu, Catherine Seto, Atsushi Yamanishi and Takashi Matsuo. But it was not just a serious play but the one having comedy shows in the middle. It was a three-hour-long play with no interval. In the three hours, Yoichi Nukumizu and Akiyoshi Nakao were victimised for Sanma-san’s comedy shows. They each had a comedy show with Sanma-san for about thirty minutes and had to show their comical performances based on Sanma-san’s instructions. Their performances were funny enough to make me laugh but they were so desperate to satisfy Sanma-san as to make me laugh a lot. The play or show was so entertaining and funny that it went by so fast. The three hours were too short.
This time, I was lucky enough to get a seat in the second row and was very happy to see Sanma-san up close. As I was watching his performances, I realised how powerful he is. He is already 68 years old and is older than any of the other actors in the play. Nevertheless, he gave outstanding performances that made me laugh and enjoy myself. He also helped me to recover from the tearful news I had in January and to move forward in my life. He is a source of energy for me and I look forward to meeting him again soon.

1月23日のボクの誕生日に明石家さんまさんの舞台を観に行きました。 東京ドームのIMMシアターで上演された舞台『斑鳩の王子』です。 7世紀の豪族間の抗争にまつわる話でした。劇中ではさんまさんが聖徳太子を演じ、良く知られていたり、有望な俳優さんが脇を固めました。その中には、中尾明慶、音月桂、温水洋一、瀬戸カトリーヌ、山西惇、松尾貴史さんらがいらっしゃいました。この劇はただのシリアスな劇ではなく、途中でお笑いの場面がありました。 休憩なしの3時間の劇で、途中のお笑いの場面では、温水さんと中尾さんがさんまさんの餌食になりました。 それぞれが個別にさんまさんと２人で約30分間、お笑いの場面を演じます。さんまさんの指示に従ってコミカルな演技を演じていました。 彼らのパフォーマンスは面白くて笑えるのですが、それよりも、さんまさんを満足させようと必死に頑張る姿を見て大笑いしました。 演劇とお笑いの場面がとても楽しくかつ面白くて、あっという間に時間が過ぎました。 ３時間では短すぎでした。
今回は運良く2列目の席が取れて、さんまさんを間近で見ることができてとても嬉しかったです。さんまさんの演技を観て、さんまさんのパワフルさが改めて分かりました。さんまさんはすでに68歳で、今回の劇の出演者の中の最年長でした。 それでも、非常にすばらしいパフォーマンスでボクを楽しませ、笑わせてくれました。 また、1月の悲報から立ち直り、前向きに生きる気にさせてくれました。 さんまさんは、ボクのエネルギー源です。近いうちにまた会えることを楽しみにしています。
