After I lived in the Netherlands for about three years, I moved to the UK. The country had a lot of roundabouts, too. But they were not as easy to drive through as in the Netherlands. I was very nervous about driving past them for a while after I moved to the country. This was because most British roundabouts were bigger and busier than Dutch ones. It was when I drove the central London that I was most scared to handle. Just a few days after I had moved to the country, I had to steer on business to take my bosses to a hotel. At that time, I had to drive past a roundabout near Buckingham Palace. As it had several lanes and heavy traffic, I was confused about how to drive. But I was fortunate to get through it as I got some driving tips from one of the passengers who had been through it before. With keeping an eye out for other drivers on the roundabout, I carefully found the right time to drive into it and managed to enter it. It was big enough for me to feel dizzy while I was driving in it. I still remember driving through it with sweat on my hands.

　オランダに3年住んだ後、英国に移りました。ラウンドアバウトは、英国にの沢山ありました。でも、運転はオランダの時程易しくなかったです。英国に移ってしばらくは、ラウンドアバウトを運転するときは緊張しました。英国のラウンドアバウトは、オランダに比べると大きく、交通量の多かったです。一番怖かったのは、ロンドン市内を運転した時です。英国に赴任してわずか数日で、上司を車でホテルに送っていかなくてはならなくなったのです。その時に、バッキンガム宮殿近くのラウンドアバウトを通過しました。このラウンドアバウトは車線が複数で、交通量も非常に多く、運転に戸惑いました。でも、幸いにも、同乗者の中に、ここを以前運転したことがある人がいたので、アドバイスをもらいながら運転しました。中にいる車を見極めながら、進入するタイミングを慎重に見極めて入りました。中で運転している時は、大きすぎて、めまいがしそうでした。
手に汗をかきながら運転したのをいまでも覚えています。
