When I was a child, I had a dream of visiting as many foreign countries as possible. And I have fulfilled it. I have been lucky enough to have the chance to visit a lot of countries since I began to work. Even more, I had the chance to live in European countries. However, I have one country I have not yet been to and still would like to visit. That is Canada which is one of the G7 countries. I have been to all G7 countries except Canada. But I still have no chance to visit the country. At least, I am not unfamiliar with the country. Since I was a child, I have had the chance to be exposed to the country. It was when I went to the Expo 70s in Osaka that I was first exposed to Canada. When I visited the Expo, the US and Soviet pavilions were so crowded that I gave them up and entered the Canadian pavilion. I do not remember what was on display and what I saw in the pavilion. But it was one of the pavilions I was able to enter at the busy Expo.
Since then, I used to think about what the country was like while reading the world map. And it was when I was planning my honeymoon that the country came back to me. At that time, I was so enthusiastic about skiing that I planned to go skiing in Canada. I planned to ski in the Canadian Rocky Mountains while staying at the Banff Springs Hotel, a castle hotel. But I suddenly changed my mind and did not go to Canada.
I also had a junior colleague who had a connection with the country when I was working with a company. He had stayed in Toronto for a few years on business and also found his partner there. I enjoyed getting information on Canada from him. I also tried to find customers in Canada so that I would be able to visit the country. However, my hard efforts ended in tears.
While I was writing this article, Canada awoke my fighting spirit and made me desire to visit the country.

それ以来、世界地図を見ながらその国がどんなところなのかを考えるようになりました。 そして、カナダのことをまた考えるようになったのは、新婚旅行の計画を立てていたときでした。 当時は、スキーに熱中していたので、カナダへスキーに行く計画を立てていました。 お城のホテル・バンフスプリングスホテルにと泊まって、カナディアンロッキーでスキーをする予定でした。でも、突然気が変わって、カナダには行きませんでした。
会社に勤めていた頃、カナダに縁のある後輩がいました。 彼は仕事でトロントに数年間駐在していました。そして、そこでパートナーも見つけました。 彼からカナダに関する情報を得られ楽しかったです。 また、カナダを訪れるために、カナダで顧客を見つけようとしたこともありました。でも、うまくいきませんでした。
この記事を書いている内に、闘志がわいてきて、カナダを訪れたくなりました。
