When I was child, I had to write a Japanese character nicely. So I practiced many times, every days. In Canada, also my kids learn it how to write at school. But it was still messy. So I studied how to write nicely.

I'll show you my daughter's big difference. (My son needs more practice.)

Next day, I taught each line's meaning.
"Focus the line. It is a guide for a letter."

She is a kindergarten student. She started learning the Alphabet at school, just like other kids. She knows what pronunciation and what letter is because teachers teach. But, still hand writing was difficult for her. It is normal. And maybe, she didn't know the meaning of 3 lines. After learning, her handwriting improved, only one day. (Of course, her knowledge might make a good connection suddenly.)

Check this point

 1. Can they grab a pencil correctly?

2. And can they write straight or curved line? (Those things are important. )

Please using a grid paper. Angles, straight lines and corners are so important!!

Please do not do faster, because sometimes they concentrate to draw only lines. It is not practice for handwriting well. Slowly and few times are better.
