森の中で迷子になった少女は、パンとチーズと水を入れたカゴを持っていました。彼女は、おばあさんの家にお見舞いに行く途中でしたが、道に迷ってしまいました。彼女は、森の中を歩き回りましたが、どこにも出口が見つかりませんでした。やがて、彼女は疲れてしまい、木の下に座りました。彼女は、カゴからパンとチーズと水を取り出し、少しずつ食べました。彼女は、お腹がいっぱいになると、眠気に負けてしまいました。彼女は、木の下で眠りにつきました。

しばらくして、彼女は目を覚ましました。彼女は、目の前に大きな狼がいるのに気づきました。狼は、彼女に向かってにこやかに笑いました。彼女は、恐怖に震えましたが、声も出せませんでした。狼は、彼女に話しかけました。

「こんにちは、お嬢さん。どうしてこんなところにいるの？」

「私は、おばあさんの家に行く途中で、道に迷ってしまったのです。」

「そうかい。それは大変だったね。おばあさんの家は、どこにあるの？」

「私は、よくわかりません。森の中にあると聞いたのですが、どこにも見つかりませんでした。」

「なら、私が教えてあげよう。私は、この森の住人だから、おばあさんの家も知っているよ。」

「本当ですか？ありがとうございます。でも、あなたは狼ですよね。私を食べたりしないでしょうね。」

「心配しないで。私は、お嬢さんを食べたりしないよ。私は、お嬢さんと友達になりたいだけなんだ。」

「友達になりたい？」

「そうだよ。私は、この森で一人ぼっちなんだ。誰とも話したり遊んだりできないんだ。だから、お嬢さんと友達になりたいんだ。」

「そうなんですか。それは、かわいそうですね。」

「じゃあ、お嬢さんは、私と友達になってくれる？」

「ええ、いいですよ。私も、一人では寂しいですから。」

「やった！ありがとう、お嬢さん。それじゃあ、さっそくおばあさんの家に行こう。私が案内するから、ついてきてね。」

「はい、わかりました。」

そうして、少女と狼は、手をつないで森の中を歩き始めました。少女は、狼が意外に優しくて、面白い話をたくさんしてくれることに驚きました。狼は、少女が可愛くて、賢くて、素直なことに感心しました。二人は、すぐに仲良くなりました。

やがて、二人はおばあさんの家に着きました。おばあさんの家は、森の中にひっそりと佇んでいました。狼は、少女に言いました。

「お嬢さん、ここがおばあさんの家だよ。おばあさんは、今日は一日中家にいるはずだから、きっと喜んでくれるよ。」

「ありがとう、狼さん。あなたのおかげで、無事にたどり着くことができました。」

「どういたしまして。お嬢さん、私はここで待っているから、おばあさんに挨拶してきてね。」

「はい、わかりました。でも、あなたも一緒に入ってきませんか？おばあさんは、あなたにも会いたいと思いますよ。」

「いや、それはだめだよ。私は狼だから、おばあさんに怖がられるかもしれないし、迷惑かけるかもしれないから。」

「そうですか。それは残念です。でも、私はすぐに戻ってきますから、待っていてくださいね。」

「うん、待ってるよ。気をつけてね。」

少女は、狼に笑顔で手を振りました。そして、おばあさんの家に向かって走りました。狼は、少女の後ろ姿を見送りました。狼は、少女に心から感謝しました。少女は、狼に心から友情を感じました。二人は、お互いに大切な存在になりました。

Girl lost in the forest

A girl lost in the forest had a basket of bread, cheese, and water. She was on her way to visit her grandmother's house, but she got lost. She wandered through the forest but couldn't find an exit anywhere. Eventually she got tired and she sat down under a tree. She took some bread, cheese, and water out of her basket and ate some. Once her stomach was full, she gave in to sleepiness. She fell asleep under a tree.

After a while she woke up. She noticed a large wolf in front of her. Her wolf grinned at her. She trembled with fear, but could not make a sound. The wolf spoke to her.

"Hello, young lady. Why are you here?"

``I got lost on my way to my grandmother's house.''

"I see. That must have been difficult. Where is your grandmother's house?"

"I'm not sure. I heard it was in the woods, but I couldn't find it anywhere."

"Then I'll tell you. I'm a resident of this forest, so I also know your grandmother's house."

"Really? Thank you. But you're a wolf. You wouldn't eat me."

"Don't worry, I won't eat you. I just want to be friends with you."

"Do you want to be friends?"

"That's right. I'm all alone in this forest. I can't talk to anyone or play with anyone. That's why I want to be friends with the young lady."

"Is that so? That seems cute."

“Then, young lady, would you like to be friends with me?”

"Yeah, that's fine. I get lonely being alone too."

"Okay! Thank you, little girl. Well then, let's go to your grandmother's house right away. I'll show you around, so please follow me."

"Yes, I understand."

Then the girl and the wolf started walking through the forest hand in hand. The girl was surprised that the wolf was surprisingly kind and told her many interesting stories. The wolf was impressed by how cute, smart, and honest the girl was. The two quickly became friends.

Eventually, they arrived at their grandmother's house. Grandma's house stood quietly in the forest. The wolf said to the girl.

"Little girl, this is your grandmother's house. She will be home all day today, so I'm sure she'll be happy."

"Thank you, Wolf-san. Thanks to you, we were able to get there safely."

"You're welcome, young lady. I'll be waiting here, so please come and say hello to your grandmother."

"Yes, I understand. But would you like to come in too? Grandma would like to see you too."

"No, you can't do that. I'm a wolf, so the old lady might be scared of me, and I might cause trouble."

"I see. That's a shame. But I'll be back soon, so please wait."

"Yeah, I'll be waiting. Be careful."

The girl smiled at the wolf and waved her hand. And she ran towards her grandmother's house. The wolf watched the girl's back. The wolf thanked the girl from the bottom of her heart. The girl felt friendship in her heart for the wolf. The two became important to each other.
