2024年4月8日、カナダのハリファックスにて日食を見ることができました🌙
今回の日食は北太平洋の東側と北アメリカ大陸のほぼすべての広い範囲で見ることができたんだそうですが、日本では日の出前に起こっていたとのことです。

どんどん形を変える太陽、丸くなる影が三日月形になったり、ピーク時には夕方のように薄暗くなったり、星の影響を体感する神秘的な時間でした。

街中の皆さんは特別なサングラスとピクニックのバスケットを持ってゾロゾロと外に溢れ出し、この歴史的な天文ショーをご家族や友人達とワクワク楽しんでいました。

空を見上げてとてもピースフルな時間が流れていました。

On April 8, 2024, I was able to see a solar eclipse in Halifax, Canada 🌙
This solar eclipse was visible over a wide area, including the eastern side of the North Pacific Ocean and almost all of the North American continent, but in Japan it occurred before sunrise.

The sun changed shape gradually, the shadow became a crescent-shaped, and at the peak it became dark like evening. It was a mysterious time to experience the influence of the planets.

People in the city went outside with special sunglasses and picnic baskets, excitedly enjoying this historic astronomical show with their families and friends.

It was a very peaceful time looking up at the sky.

Japan-Canada International Exchange Project
日本カナダ国際文化交流

The purpose of "Ladder" is to explore important themes of cultural identity, immigration, and generational differences through the history of Japanese Canadians. The project aims to shed light on overlooked history, learn from each other, and create an innovative performance. The interactive creation between mask art by Miya Turnbull and Butoh dance by Emiko Agatsuma can contribute to a more diverse and inclusive outlook on the arts. This project will also promote cross-cultural understanding, respect, and collaboration with other fields of arts.

このプロジェクトは日系カナダ人の歴史を通して文化的アイデンティティ、移民、世代間の違いといった重要なテーマを探求し、それによって見過ごされてきた歴史に光を当て、互いに学び合いながら新しい気づきを含んだ作品を創り出すことを目的としています。
Miya Turnbull によるお面のアートと我妻恵美子による舞踏が相互に影響を与え合うこの創作は、より多様で包括的な芸術観に貢献し、異文化理解と尊重を進めていきます。また、歴史への新たなアプローチや他分野とのコラボレーションを通じて、芸術における新たな価値の創造を目指します。
