1. An update of a few recent events

"I don't want to write a single song which is meaningless."
This is what Kaze said when he was interviewed by NHK TV in the summer of 2021.
Since I heard those words, Kaze's words had become "curse words" for me and I haven't been able to casually ask Kaze, "Are you writing (new) songs?
This spring, we went to LA for a whole month to get inspiration for a song Kaze was writing. On weekdays, Kaze commuted from his apartment to the studio, where he also practiced piano. Occasionally, we had other sessions in the studio. At that time, it was sometimes the case that most of the band members, engineers, and producers were younger than Kaze.
One day, Kaze said "Maybe I'll write one song every time I go into the studio.” (Did something inspire him?)
About two years after that "cursed word", "words of joy" for me popped out from Kaze.
Automatically, I said "Wow, that sounds great!"
“Kaze-san, you don't seem to have a new release for while~”
To those who have been waiting with anticipation, thanks for waiting a little longer.
We are working hard on a new song.
2. Getting ready for Asia Tour
Speaking of getting ready, Asia tour starts next week
Seoul - Bangkok - Jakarta - Kuala Lumpur - Shanghai -Taipei-Hong Kong. 11 performances in 6 weeks.
Kaze's first live performance outside Japan.
His first tour in Asia.
He will perform with only one piano.
The staff will be minimal.
What will happen?
This week, we have the final rehearsal, and Mr. Kaze seems to be gradually getting the image of the tour stage clearly.
3. Blu-ray subtitles, review by Kaze is complete
One of the other things we were doing in parallel with the preparation for the Asian tour was to prepare for the Blu-ray release.
Kaze also has completed final (English / Japanese) subtitle check this week. Now Blu-ray is all in order for the July 12th release (we were Just in time~!)
We have been spending our time like that lately, but I never thought we would be going to LA again right before the Korea tour....

P.S. I often say "Atsui ! (meaning Hot in Japanese)" to express great things, and Kaze told me earlier on a bus in LA that English native speakers also say "Fire!" to describe amazing things.

4. Espresso's reaction to staff diary
His sudden trip to LA was a big surprise to all fans, I guess. When I saw his instagram story first time, I thought he was outside of Japan but did not think he was in LA ! Surprise, surprise ! I hope his time and effort flying to LA paid out and everything went well. It's very exciting to hear, his new song release is getting closer.
Secondly, I am very happy and grateful that Kaze and Kaze office put English subtitles to the blu-ray. I ( and probably many other fans ?) have been requesting since his 1st blu-ray works, Budokan, then HEAT. Putting subtitles is not a easy work and I am very thankful that Kaze invested his effort to make it available for overseas fans. His lyrics and talks at live concerts include very important messages and subtitles were absolutely necessary to communicate the world of Fujii Kaze. Kaze achieved No 1 sales in oricon chart for his 1st and 2nd blu-ray. It was the first time that solo male artist achieved that record in Japan. I know the price is not very affordable but it is worth it. If you think you can buy, you might want to reserve it now to help 1st week of sales which I expect he might have a chance to achieve another record in blu-ray sales chart.
For his Asia tour prep, I can not believe it is starting within a week. I'm very happy that he is finally able to meet overseas fans face-to-face at least in some counties in Asia. It's a great 1st step. I can relate to overseas fans' feelings, as I needed to wait for about 2 years and a half before I experience his concert. I could not fly to Japan due to COVID travel restrictions and I felt like the waiting is forever. It was tough. I still remember my happiness vividly when I attended Kaze's concert for the first time. and I pray for him so he can show the best of him in front of his kazetarians. Wish him great success and wish local fans a great time with him.
Lastly but not least, I found it so funny that Kaze explains the use cases of slang to his manager. Kaze loves to use slang in his communication to fans and I believe Kaze also picked up more casual expressions during his 1 month stay in the US working with creators younger than him. I hope Zuzzu can choose right timing when to use "fire". Probably not when he uses English in the formal business set up. :-)
