これは、現役兄弟バンド「スパークス」の歌詞を、勝手に日本語訳していく記事です。
「The Calm Before The Storm」 （嵐の前の静けさ）
直訳するだけで「ある」日本語になると、うれしくなってしまいますね。
18枚目のアルバム『Balls』（2002年）の５曲目。
実際シングルになっていますが、とてもシングル感のある（？）Ａ面曲です。
映画『アネット』（2021年）でもCメロ部が使われていました。
（ちなみにアネット、既存曲から使うつもりはなかったが、ファンでもある監督カラックスの希望でいろいろ入ったのだそう）

わからへん
全体通して「嵐の前の静けさ」、calm、を語って統一されてるのでそんなに難しいこともなさそうですが
（というか日本語対訳を持ってるからですが）
（１）
「Something that will change your tune」を「君を変えてしまう何かが」にしました。tuneどこいってん。と思いますが字数を増やしたくなく、これでニュアンス入ってるだろう。ということで。
tune：曲、メロディー、調子、気分 など。

「The dogs are letting postmen come and go」
そのままなら「犬たちは郵便配達員が来て・行くのを許す」。
詞全体が「嵐の前」の平和な町の様子を言ってるので、つまり犬が（いつもなら新聞配達や来客にするところ）吠えない、ってことだろう。と意訳。
「For every yes, a hundred no's」
これは、わかんない。

「The loudest sound's a dial tone」→「音の最大値は受話器のダイヤルトーン」
ダイヤルトーンというのは、固定電話で受話器を上げたときの、番号押す前に聞こえてる「プー・・・」というやつですね。あれが（一帯で）最大の音。それくらい嵐の前の静けさ。ここすっごく好きです。
「油絵のカサブタよりリアル」（byイエローモンキー「プライマル」）くらい好き。
