「Bullet Train」 ～Sparksの詞を訳す⑩～
映画『ブレット・トレイン』が（絶賛）公開中です。
そこで、スパークスも持っている「ブレットトレイン」＝弾丸のように速い電車＝新幹線 の歌を、今回は訳してみます。
映画とは名詞以外まったく関係ありませんので、悪しからず。
前回複雑さをきわめましたが、今回はあほみたいな・・・いやいや。
「Bullet Train」 （偉大なる新幹線）
18枚目のアルバム『Balls』（ボールズ）の７曲目。
パイナップルを褒めたたえる歌も持っているスパークスの、
新幹線を褒めたたえる歌です。

ここは、カップルの別れ話みたいなところからおもむろに富士山が現れて何もかも解決・・・いや彼氏だけ興奮して、泣きそう（まさか感動ではあるまい）な彼女に「家でやれ」と言って一巻の終わり、みたいな感じと捉えました。
同じく（４）中の
「I should learn from those around us to be more round about」
は、直訳すると
「僕は、僕たちの周りから、もっと回り道を学ぶべきだろう」
あれ・・・これでよかったな。
「around us」と「round about」でグルグルと掛け言葉な一文ですね。

「特異点」なんて、、、もちろん言ってません。
原文は「How the fabric and the finish and the glass intersect」
howに行きつくわけなので、どんなふうにしてるか、その仕方。みたいなことですが、新幹線を褒めたたえる歌だから、大仰なワードで締めたっていいじゃないか。と。そもそも特異点の正確な意味も、知りませんけど。。。

わからへん。
新幹線はサイコー。だが人類よ、ここが進歩の行き止まりではあるまいな、みたいなことでしょうか。 ？
