九月の京都
九月に入っても毎日毎日33度を超える暑さにさすがにうんざりしています。ところで孫に教えてもらいとても興味のある本を見つけました。図書館で読んだり、借りてきて家で読んだりしています。それは「世界のともだち」。世界36か国の10歳前後の子供達を紹介した写真集。学校のこと、家族のこと、地域のことを子供の生き生きした顔と一緒に写真で見られ、その国へ行った気がします。どの子供もいろんな問題をかかえながらたくましく成長している姿に感動します。知らない国もあり、36巻までまだまだかかる。
September in Kyoto 2023
Even as we entered September, the daily temperatures surpassing 33 degrees have become quite tiresome. On another note, I stumbled upon a book that piqued my interest, thanks to my grandchild. It's called 'Friends Around the World.' It's a photo book that introduces children around the age of 10 from 36 different countries. Through photographs, we can see these children's vibrant lives, including their schools, families, and communities. It almost feels like I've traveled to each of these countries. I'm moved by how resilient and determined each of these children is, despite the various challenges they face. There are still many countries I haven't explored in the book, and it's going to take quite a whileIto finish all the 36 volumes."
