押しも押されぬ茨城県の大ヒーロー、黄門様こと徳川光圀公。しかしゴールデンでの時代劇のレギュラー放送が終了し、｢水戸黄門｣ですら地上波を去って久しく、黄門様を知らない子供たちも増えつつあった。
現在は那珂湊の市民の憩いの場となっている湊公園は、かつて光圀公が客人をもてなすために建設した水戸藩の別邸｢い賓閣(いひんかく)｣の跡地である。ある日、湊公園で子供たちが遊んでいると、公園内に植えられた樹齢300年のクロマツが突如ニョキニョキと伸び、巨大な怪獣となって子供たちに襲いかかった。わけもわからぬまま逃げ惑う子供たちだったが、ある者は針のような松葉で地面に縫い付けられ、ある者は強力な粘着力の松ヤニで動きを封じられてしまう。絶体絶命のピンチの中、二人のお供を連れた謎の老人が怪獣の前に立ちはだかった。｢この街の未来を担う子供たちを襲うとは不届き千万！助さん、格さん、懲らしめてやりなさい！｣老人の声とともにお供の青年が｢控えおろう！このお方をどなたと心得る！前の副将軍水戸光圀公にあらせられるぞ！｣と叫んで突き付けた印籠から紋所ビームが放たれ、怪獣はたまらず退散。迎えに来た母親たちに駆け寄る子供たちを穏やかな笑顔で見送ると、謎の老人は姿を消した。｢水戸黄門｣を見たことがないはずの子供たちが｢黄門様が助けてくれた｣と言うのを聞いて、母親たちは首を捻るのであった。
怪獣マツノギランはい賓閣に植えられた松の木たちが、可愛がってくれた光圀公の事を子供たちに知ってもらうために、あえて悪役を演じた姿なのかも知れない。

The great hero of Ibaraki Prefecture who is not pushed, Mitsukuni Tokugawa a.k.a.Komon-sama. However, the regular broadcasting of the period drama in Golden ended, and even "Mito Komon" left the terrestrial wave for a long time, and children who did not know Komon-sama were increasing, too.
Minato Park, which is now a place of relaxation for the citizens of Nakaminato, is the site of the Mito domain's villa "Ihinkaku", which was once built by The Duke of Mitsukuni to welcome guests. One day, while children were playing in Minato Park, a 300-year-old black pine planted in the park suddenly stretched out and became a huge monster and attacked the children. Some are sewn to the ground with needle-like pine needles, and some are sealed with strong sticky pine lesin. In a deadly pinch, a mysterious old man with two companions stood in front of the monster. "It's not enough to attack the children who will be responsible for the future of this city!" Suke-san, Kaku-san, please chastise me! The young man accompanying the old man's voice said, "Let's hold back!" Who do you know about this person? The former deputy shogun, Mitsukuni appear publicly in the public! A mondokoro beam was released from the inro that was shouted and thrust, and the monster retreated. The mysterious old man disappeared as he saw off the children running up to the mothers who had come to pick them up with a gentle smile. Mothers twisted their necks when they heard children who should not have seen "Mito Komon" say, "Komon-sama helped us."
The monster Matsunogiran may be the figure that the pine trees planted in the guest house dared to play the villain in order to let the children know about the Mitshukuni duke who was cute.
