【HLAB OBUSE 2022 Daily Report Vol.1】

HLAB OBUSE 2022が、8月20日より始まりました。今年のHLAB サマースクールは、長野県小布施町に加え、東京・宮城県女川町・群馬県中之条町の全国4地域を舞台に展開されました。オンラインで行われた開会式では、高校生代表や委員長、グローバルサイドメンターが気持ちのこもったスピーチをし、長野県や小布施町の関係者の皆様からもお言葉を頂戴いたしました。開会式終了後は、緊張をほぐすためのアイスブレイクや小布施について知るための「Discover OBUSE企画」、昼食・夕食の休憩時にメンターがお送りする「ラジオ企画」、メンターと自由に話し合う「メンターフリーインタラクション」、また一日を振り返る「リフレクション」を行いました。

「Discover OBUSE」では、長野県在住のメンター数名が実際に小布施町へ行き、オンライン中継で小布施町の街歩きの様子を届けました。また、小布施町にまつわるクイズをハウス対抗で挑戦することで信頼を築く企画となりました。参加者もメンターも小布施町についてより知識を深めることができました。

HLAB Summer School OBUSE 2022 began on August 20. This year, the summer school was held in four regions across Japan: Tokyo, Obuse-cho, Nagano Prefecture; Onagawa-cho, Miyagi Prefecture; and Nakanojo, Gunma Prefecture. At the opening ceremony held online, high school student representatives, committee chairs, and global side mentors gave heartfelt speeches, and we received words of encouragement from Nagano Prefecture and Obuse Town officials. After the opening ceremony, there was an ice break to relieve tension, a "Discover OBUSE Project" to learn more about Obuse, a "Radio Project" with the mentors during lunch and dinner breaks, "Mentor Free Interaction" to talk freely with the mentors, and a "Reflection The "Discover OBUSE" program was held in the afternoon. In the "Discover OBUSE" segment, several of the mentors, who live in Nagano Prefecture, actually went to Obuse Town and provided an online broadcast of a town tour of the town. The program was also designed to build trust by having the mentors take quizzes related to Obuse in a house-to-house competition. Both participants and mentors were able to deepen their knowledge of Obuse-cho.

2日目から海外にルーツのあるメンターが主体となり、少人数で英語を使って実施する「セミナー」が始まりました。普段の学校生活では中々触れる機会の少ないテーマについて学び、高校生自身の視点を広げる濃い時間となりました。

昼食後は自分を深く知るための「自己分析企画」、高校生同士で自由に話し合う「高校生フリーインタラクション」を実施し、最後は「リフレクション」で1日を振り返りました。「自己分析企画」では、自分に影響を与えた瞬間をライフラインチャートに書き出し、これまでの人生を振り返りました。その後の「高校生フリーインタラクション」では異なる環境で過ごす同世代の高校生同士でインタビューワークを行いました。自分やお互いについてより深く知ることができ、実りある一日となりました。

The second day, August 16, began with a "seminar" conducted in small groups in English, led by mentors who have roots overseas. The seminar was an intense time for the participants to learn about topics that they rarely have a chance to come into contact with in their daily school lives and to broaden their perspectives. After lunch, the participants had a "self-analysis project" to learn more about themselves, a "free interaction" among high school students, and finally, a "reflection" to look back on the day. In the "Self-Analysis Project," participants wrote down moments that influenced them on a lifeline chart and reflected on their lives to date. In the "High School Student Free Interaction" session that followed, participants interviewed other high school students of the same generation who were living in different environments.

3日目も、セミナーからスタートです。初日は英語に苦労する参加者も多数いましたが、1日目の悔しさを踏まえて積極的に発言をするなど個人個人で目標を立て3日目のセミナーに臨む姿がありました。

昼食後は、小布施企画で、小布施で生まれ育ち、小布施町で活動をされている町民12名のゲストの皆さまにご協力いただき、前半では工場や記念館をオンライン中継し、後半は町民ゲストの方々へのインタビューワークを実施しました。そして、その後の「Why YOU Why HLAB」企画では自己分析を行い、このサマースクールに参加した理由・学びたいことを改めて考える機会になりました。オンラインでも小布施町を感じることができた一日となりました。

The third day also began with a seminar. Many participants struggled with English on the first day, but based on their frustration on the first day, they set individual goals for the seminar on the third day, such as speaking up aggressively. After lunch, with the cooperation of the 12 guests who are from Obuse and working in Obuse Town, the first half of the seminar consisted of an online tour of the factory and memorial museum, followed by interview work with the guests in the second half. The second half was interview work with the guests. After that, the Why You Why HLAB project was a self-analysis. It gave them a chance to rethink why they participated in this summer school and what they wanted to learn.It was a day where we were able to feel the town of Obuse even online.

4日を迎え、この日もセミナーから企画が始まりました。セミナーも折り返しとなり、学習テーマが山場を迎えそれぞれのルームで白熱した様子が伺えました。

午後には、社会の前線で活躍されるゲストの方のお話を聞き、その後質疑応答を行う「フォーラム」企画が行われました。ゲストには栗林梨恵さま、徳谷柿次郎さまをお迎えし、ご講演をいただきました。日本、世界をフィールドとして挑戦されてきたお二方からのお話を通して、これまで触れてくることがなかった価値観に触れることができました。

The fourth day also started with a seminar. As the seminar time came to a close, the learning themes reached a climax, with heated lectures taking place in each of the rooms. In the afternoon, the forum was planned with guest speakers Rie Kuribayashi and Kakijiro Tokutani. Through the stories of these two people who have taken on challenges in Japan and around the world, we were able to experience values that we had never been exposed to before.

5日目はセミナーはお休みとなり、これまでセミナーを担当していたグローバルサイドメンターによる企画が行われました。「自分自身が大切にしているものを英語を使って説明してみよう！」するというテーマでプログラムを実施し、真剣な空気のセミナーとは一転、終始笑顔の絶えない企画となりました。午後は「フリーインタラクション」、「自己分析企画」が行われました。「フリーインタラクション」では長野県や小布施町をルーツとしたゲストの方々をお迎えし、高校生が自由にゲストと対話をしました。「自己分析企画」では、前半にサマースクールで感じたことを整理し、後半ではサマースクールが終了した3ヶ月後に自分がしている「かも」しれないことを書き出しました。互いに共有することで、サマースクール後の日常生活にも目を向けられる企画となりました。

On the fifth day, the seminar was closed and a "GBs project (Global-Side Mentors project)" was held, which served as a time for exchange with the Global-Side Mentors who had been in charge of the seminar. The program was a complete change from the seminar, with participants explaining in English what they valued most about themselves, and the smiles on their faces from start to finish. In the afternoon, "Free Interaction" and "Self-Analysis Project" were held. In the "Free Interaction" session, guests with roots in Nagano Prefecture and Obuse Town were invited , and high school students freely engaged in dialogue with the guests.In the "Self-analysis Project," in the first half, participants organized their impressions of the summer school, and in the second half, they wrote down what they "might" be doing three months after the summer school, and shared their ideas.

サマースクール最終日の6日目、「セミナー」も最終日を迎え、初日は英語や学問の難しさに圧倒されていた参加者も、積極的に発言をするなど成長が多く見られました。午後の「小布施企画」では、事前に各高校生にグッズを送付し、当日は小布施町地域おこし協力隊の佐々木愛（ささき・まな）さまをゲストとしてお迎えし、ハガキサイズの紙にドライフラワーや折り紙などを貼り付けるマイガーデンづくりのワークショップを行いました。これまでの5日間の刺激の多い体験で感じた思いを、各々のスタイルで自由に表現していました。

「閉会式」では、参加者代表が6日間を通して学んだことを語り、運営副委員長が熱い言葉を届けました。その後、ハウスで過ごす最後の時間である「ファイナルハウスタイム」を経た後、修了書授与式が実施されました。授与式では、メンターや参加者が伝えるメッセージに感動し、涙を流して別れを惜しみました。授与式に参加する参加者の表情からは、充実感と成長がひしひしと感じられました。8月15日（月）から始まったHLAB OBUSE 2022は、たくさんの方々のご協力により、本日無事に終了することが出来ました。誠にありがとうございました。

On the sixth and final day of the summer school, the final day of the "Seminar," many participants who had struggled with English and academic difficulties on the first day showed much growth by speaking up actively. In the afternoon, the "Obuse Project" welcomed Ms. Ai Sasaki, a member of the Obuse Town Community Development Cooperation Volunteers, as a guest speaker and held a workshop on how to make your own garden by attaching dried flowers and origami to postcard-size sheets of paper. Each participant freely expressed in his or her own style the thoughts and feelings he or she had felt during the stimulating five-day experience. At the "Closing Ceremony," representatives of the participants spoke about what they had learned throughout the six days, and the vice-chairman of the steering committee delivered passionate words.
After the "Final House Time," which was the last time spent at the House, the Certificate Award Ceremony was held. At the award ceremony, the participants were moved by the messages delivered by the mentors and participants, and shed tears as they bid farewell to each other. The participants' expressions at the awarding ceremony showed their fulfillment and growth. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
