Ignite Infinity - 和訳
はじめに
これもポータブルシリーズの主題歌。歌詞を眺めている内にゲーム自体への興味も出てきたけれど、PSP本体以外でのプレイは当分難しそうですね。

終わりに
そろそろ終わりかと思っていたけど、調べてみると英語の歌詞はまだまだありますね。PSO2の曲も残っていることだし、気長にやっていけたらいいと思います。
翻訳メモ
前回（Living Universe）と違い、個人的に躓いた箇所はなかった。
Ignite the wish to catch a star
願え 流れ星をつかまえるの！
どうでもよい話ですが、自分はCatch a star（星を捕まえる）みたいな表現が好きなんですよね。おそらく大それた望みを叶えるとかそんな意味なのだけど、詩的でありながら日本語では馴染みのない感じがして良い。
17世紀のイギリスにジョン・ダンという詩人がいて、彼のSong（歌）という作品の冒頭にこの表現が登場します。
Go and catch a falling star,
さあ行って 流れ星を捕まえるの
Get with child a mandrake root,
マンドレイクの根っこの赤ん坊を引き抜いて
Tell me where all past years are,
過ぎ去った月日がどこに行ったのか教えてよ
Or who cleft the devil's foot,
あるいは誰が悪魔の足を裂いたのか
Teach me to hear mermaids singing,
どうすれば人魚の歌を聴けるのか
Or to keep off envy's stinging,
どうすれば嫉妬の針を浴びずに済むのか
And find
それが叶えば

どちらに吹く風が

正直な心を育むのかも分かるでしょう

為すべきことが残っているもの
ここだけ唯一よく分からなかったけれど、more to beはどう訳せばいいんだろう。
作意は明白としても悩ましい部分ではある。
Maybe its time that was changed the way I am
あるいは別の生き方があったのかもね
これが訳せていたらちゃんとした訳という気がする（こんなこと書いて自分が間違えたら恥ずかしいが）。
ここでは倒置が起きていて、元の文章に直せば
Maybe it's time that the way I am was changed.
となる。"the way I am"の主語が長いので後ろにすっ飛ばしたんだろう。この手の倒置が起こる場合は大体副詞句が文頭に飛んで来るが、今回はそれにあたる部分（前置詞+名詞や副詞など）がない。似た用例もあるようだしおそらく非文ではないけれど、こういう操作を何と呼べばいいんだろう。
いずれにせよ、倒置が起こったあとは"It's time that S 過去"の仮定法過去の構文が出てくる。直訳すれば「ひょっとすると、今頃はとっくに生き方を変えているはずだったのかも」という感じ。
