Eleven years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Around 20,000 people have been killed or are missing as a result of the earthquake and tsunami, and nearly 40,000 people are still forced to live in evacuation centres.

We lost everything and were in grief. But we still had hope for the future.

In Japan, the Earthquake triggered the start of impact investment and encouraged the passage of the Dormant Accounts Utilisation Act that we learnt from the UK.

Impact investing may not have an immediate effect. But we believe that even in desperate times, we can help people in need in the long term without losing hope.
