宝蔵寺の寺宝展で、若冲の弟子と思われる意冲が描いた2作品が飾られていた。初公開の「菊慈童図」と「山寺図」。この山寺図は水墨画のような雰囲気である。
山水画独特の、下から上へと続く山、その後ろに高い山が見え、さらにその向こうにも山のシルエットが薄っすらと墨の濃淡で表現され、いわゆる遠近法で描かれている。

Treasure Exhibition at Hozoji, two works drawn by lchu, who is thought to be a disciple of Jakuchu, were displayed. The first public "Kikujidozu" and "Yamaderazu". This Yamaderazu has an atmosphere like an ink painting.
A mountain that continues from bottom to top, which is peculiar to landscape painting, and a high mountain behind it can be seen, and the silhouette of the mountain is expressed in a faint shade of ink beyond that, and is drawn in so-called perspective.

私の興味は、意冲の画もさることながら賛として添えられている漢詩。解読は無理だけど、文字を辿るとなんとなく想像できる。山の情景と、奥深い山にある寺のことが書かれてあるのだろう。
説明ボードには、賛は皆川湛園(みながわきえん)とあった。皆川湛園は江戸中期の儒学者で、
絵画は円山応挙に学び卓越し技能を有し高い評価を受けている画人でもある。

My interest is Chinese poetry, which is added as an annex poem as well as a picture of a lchu. It's impossible to decipher, but l can imagine it by tracing the letters. The scenery of the mountain and the temple in the deep mountain may be written.
On the explanation board, the annex poem was Kien Minagawa. Minagawa Kien was a Confucian scholar in the middle of the Edo period. He is also a highly acclaimed painter who has learned painting from Okyo Maruyama and has outstanding skills.

その漢詩を和訳にしたものがボードにあったので、それを書き写した。
l had a Japanese translation of the Chinese poem on the board, so l copied it.

靄は山々の小道に深く垂れ込め
風は他の谷の梢を鳴らして吹き渡る
雲のかかった峰に残照がとどまるなか
幾層もの仏塔だけが
ひときわ高くそびえている

The mist hangs deep into the mountain trails
The wind blows through the treetops of other valleys
Afterglow stays on the cloudy peak
Only the layers of pagoda
Remarkably high

このような掛軸は、煎茶席でゆるりとした気分で語り合いながら眺めるのがいいような気がする。

I feel that it is good to look at such a hanging scroll while talking in a relaxed mood at the sencha table.
