袋中菴には、作法のひとつとして歴代の住職が伝承してきた「挿花」がある。
その華道は、あくまでも仏道にのっとり、仏前に供えた花の残花をもって生けることを第一義に考えた作法として伝わってきた。

 As one of the manners of Taichu-an, there is "floral flower" that has been handed down by successive priests. The flower arrangement has been handed down as a method that first considers living with the remaining flowers of the flowers offered in front of the Buddh, following the Buddhism.

袋中菴に伝承された華道を「山階御流」という。その六世家元、賀幡圓定師がよく言っていた「一枝一葉、花を無駄にするなかれ」という、すべての仏の教えがこの言葉に映しだされている。

 The flower arrangement that has been handed down to Taichu-an is called "Yamashina Goryu". All the Buddhist teachings, "One branch, one leaf, don't waste the flowers," which was often said by the sixth generation Yuan, Mr. Enjyo Kabata, are reflected in this word.

今回は、花が彩る晩春の風景を「袋中菴 幻の花」写真集より紹介する。

【椿のご馳走】
神仏のお供えには、普通のお菓子はもちろんだが、ときどき花の御馳走があってもよい。花菓子を供え、仏前に座ると、心が和む。

 [Camellia treat]
The offerings of the Buddha include not only ordinary sweets but also occasional flower treats. Serving flower confectionery and sitting in front of the Buddhist, altar will soothe your heart.

 【浮き花】
京の桜の最後は深山から流れてくる桜の浮き花。春がゆくのを惜しみ、曲物に受ける。また、来る年にも出会いますようにとの思いを込めて。

 [Floating flowers]
The last of the cherry blossoms in Kyoto is the floating flowers of the cherry blossoms flowing from Shizan. I regret the coming of spring and receive it in the flower case. Also, with the hope that l will meet again next year.

 【鴻恩の花】
供養とは先祖の冥福を祈るだけではなく、生かされている自分を知ることでもある。花を供え、仏に語りかけることによって、縁を知り、大きな愛を感じる。彼岸はまさに出会いの日。

 [Koon’s flower]
The memorial service is not only to pray for the souls of our ancestors, but also to know who we are alive. Offer flowers and by talking to the Buddha, we get to know the relationship and feel great love. The equinoctial week is exactly the day of encounter.

 【面影の花】
心の相(すがた)を花に託して心中を観察してみるのも楽しい。花が美しいのではない。心が美しければ、花の相も美しく見える。

 [Remnant’s flower]
It is also fun to entrust the phase of the heart to the flowers and observe the inside of the heart. The flowers are not beautiful. If the heart is beautiful, the flower phase will look beautiful.

【花の花】
ワイングラスの中でも、花は喜んで生きる。花を生かす気持ちが、自分を生かす喜びにつながる。

Flowers are happy to live in a wine glass. The feeling of saving flowers leads to the joy of saving oneself.

【添う花】
ふれなば落ちなん薄き花びら
花を箱の脇にそっとおく。あなたの純粋な心が寄り添う。

【花まつり】
お釈迦様はルンビニーの花園で生まれた。お釈迦様の誕生を祝い、龍王が空中より香水を注いだ。それにちなみ、千種の花で飾り、小杓で甘茶を。当菴の誕生仏は左手を高く上げている。

 [Flower Festival]
Buddha was born in the garden of Lumbini. To celebrate the birth of Buddha, the dragon king poured perfume from the air. By the way, decorate with 1000 kinds of flowers and make sweet tea with a small cassotte. The birth Buddha of this buddha raises his left hand high.

 山階御流の圓定師は仏の教えを花の相で表現されている。挿花解説は、それぞれの花が圓定師を通し語りかけているようだ。

 Mr. Enjyo Kabata of the Yamashina style expresses the teachings of the Buddha in the phase of flowers. It seems that each flower speaks through the Enjyo master in the explanation of the flower arrangement.
