趣くままに写真を撮りためていると、毎年のように同じ場所を撮っていることが多いのに気づく。同じ場所ではあるが、撮るたびに前回とは少し違う光景になっていることもある。それは、「繰り返し」とか「時の経過」によって変化が生まれる。その些細な変化を対比してみると時としてドキドキ感を生まれる。

When I take pictures as I like, I notice that I often take the same place every year. It's the same place, but every time I take a picture, it may look a little different from the last time. It changes depending on "repetition" or "passage of time". When I compare the small changes, I sometimes get a feeling of excitement.

今回の変化は、私の好きな建仁寺の境内にある「牡丹」である。有名な双龍図が天井に描かれている法堂の周辺に植えられている牡丹に少し前から関心を寄せ、毎年仲春の咲頃には参拝がてら撮影するのが恒例になっている。

The change this time is "peony" in the precincts of my favorite Kennin-ji temple. I have been interested in the peony planted around the temple with the famous Ssangyong map on the ceiling for a while, and it is customary to take pictures every year around the time of the blooming of mid-spring.

今年も、と楽しみに出かけたが残念ながら時期を逃してしまい散っていた。茶色の袋に包まれている種だけが露出していた。建仁寺で見る、百花の王といわれる牡丹の美しさは来年に持ち越しになってしまった。しかし、青々とした葉の中に枯れ落ちた牡丹も、来春には
またほんの少し違った姿で楽しませてくれるはず。

I went out looking forward to this year as well, unfortunately I missed the time and it was scattered. Only the seeds wrapped in the brown bag were exposed. The beauty of the peony, which is said to be the king of hundred flowers, seen at Kennin-ji Temple has been carried over to next year. However, the peony that has withered in the lush leaves should be entertained with a slightly different appearance next spring.

前回は朱と緑とブルーなどの色の対比だったが、今回は、豚まんのコマーシャルではないけど「ある時・ない時」の対比でそれぞれの美しさの違いを見せてもらった。

Last time, I compared colors such as vermilion, green, and blue, but this time, although it is not a TV commercial for pork buns, I was shown the difference in beauty by comparing "when and when not".
