心で語りかけてみると微笑んでいるような顔を見せてくれた。
着物も髪も美しい。つぶらな瞳、可愛らしいおちょぼ口、なんて可憐な人形さんなんだろう。

When I talked to her with my heart, She showed me a smiling face.
What a lovely doll with round eyes and a cute little mouth.
Kimono and hair are beautiful.

頭(かしら)、胴体手足の素材は貝殻を粉にした胡紛とニカワが主な材料で、伝統の素材を独自の製法を持って制作されている人形である。

The main materials for the head and body limbs are gofun and glue, and the dolls are made from traditional materials using a unique manufacturing method.

髪は人毛を使い、眼は義眼用のガラスである。そして着物は、江戸時代の貴重な刺繍ものから明治・大正の色鮮やかなものまでを使って着付けされている。

The hair is human hair, and the eyes are glass for artificial eyes. Kimonos are dressed using precious embroidery from the Edo period to colorful ones from the Meiji and Taisho eras.

百貨店のコーナーで見かけた、この市松人形の完成された美しさに魅了され、立ち止まってほんの少し心の会話を楽しんだ。また出会う日を楽しみにしている。

I was fascinated by the finished beauty of this checkered doll that I saw in the department store corner. It is carefully made using traditional techniques using traditional materials. I am looking forward to seeing her again.
