一昨日は、仏画曼荼羅アートの佛日寺教室だった。
前回の課題が円相図。禅における書画のひとつで、丸(円形)を一筆で描いたもの。臨済宗では円相は悟りや真理、また宇宙などを円形で象徴的に表現したものとされている。また、円窓と書いて「己の心をうつす窓」という意味でも用いられることもあるようだ。

The day before yesterday was the Butsunichi-ji classroom of Buddhist painting mandala art. The last issue was the circlechart(enso). One of the calligraphic works in Zen, which is a circle drawn with a single stroke. In the Rinzai sect, Enso is said to symbolically represent enlightenment, truth, and the universe in a circle. In addition, it seems that it is sometimes used to mean "a window that reflects one's heart" by writing it as a circular window.

各教室でも円相図を書く練習をし、その円相図に、それぞれの想い表現する課題に取り組んでいる。一作日、一人の方がその課題を仕上げ持参された。
一つは円相図に仏様を、もう二つは円相と般若心経を合わせたものを制作。その中の一つが墨の中に心経を一文字ずつうつし込んだもの、それと円相図の内外に心経を書いた作品の三部作である。

In each classroom, they practice drawing a circle chart and work on the tasks to express their feelings on the circle chart. One day, one person finished the task and brought it.
One is a Buddha on the Enso, and the other is a combination of the Enso and the Heart Sutra. One of them is a trilogy of works in which the heart sutra is transferred character by character into ink, and the heart sutra is written inside and outside the Enso.

円相という己をうつす窓に心経や心仏をあわせることで想いが強く広く表現される。心の窓に、自分の想いや理想、夢を表現していくのも楽しいかもしれない。

The feelings are strongly and widely expressed by matching the heart sutra and the heart Buddha with the window that conveys oneself called Enso. It may be fun to express your thoughts, ideals, and dreams in the window of your heart.
