Peak hour in our house is from 7:30 to 8:30. Pots are bubbling, toast is popping, sleepy kids are getting up, lunch boxes are being prepared, and everyone is rushing. I'm always running HOT.

Yesterday, my little boy started Kindy. Another milestone for him! He was dressed up with a brand new uniform like his older brother. Lunch and snacks were packed in his new lunch bag. He was a little nervous, but brave enough to enter his classroom by himself, saying goodbye to his family with a smile. What a champ!

This was also the milestone for me, as a mum of two who both now go to school. Parenting still continues and morning keeps being our peak hour. But there will be more time for myself.

I've been thinking about my career since migrated to Australia more than 10 years ago. Pregnancy and raising two babies give me some time to defer my career outside of the house. But now, this "wondering what to do" time has to be over. I have some urge to do something. Do something to start my next chapter.

Currently, "Online business support" is my title on LinkedIn. But unfortunately, it's part-time and not enough money wise. Also, I'd like to work in a different field as well.

One thing I had been hesitated is to use my previous experience. I was a teacher in Japan. Teachers there usually have too much pressure and workload. They get drained mentally and physically. When I quit my teaching job, I thought I had enough. No more teaching.

I did some volunteer work as a learning support at schools in NSW. It was OK because there were teachers who were responsible for the lessons. Still apprehensive about teaching a class by myself.

But one of my interests is always in education, especially watching kids developing their skills. I even learned some alternative educations to implement their strategies to raise my children. 

After a long discussion, my husband and I start to think that maybe in Canberra, I might be able to enjoy teaching. In fact, when I did a presentation about Japan in front of Year one kids in my son's class, we had a lot of fun.  I realised that my knowledge is somehow valuable for teachers. Helping out others is always my pleasure.

So yesterday, I asked the principal in my kids' school for career advice. "How can I return to the workforce with my experience in Japan and also in Australia?" It was a huge effort for me to discuss it. I'm afraid that I talked too much and was "selling" myself instead of getting her advice. Hopefully, she didn't mind.

Anyway, some tips are now on my hand to make a step forward. So nervous but excited at the same time. As well as weekday morning, I'm now running hot and getting sweaty to explore my new chapter and a new career.
