The treatise* firstly says ChatGPT has possibilities of enhancing personalized learning and cooperative learning. Chatting with the AI enables students to learn according to their achievements or to work efficiently in groups.
The research, however, reveals the potential risk (copy-paste plagiarism). In fact, some students submit ChatGPT’s answers as papers written all by themselves. It can generate accurate reports from a tremendous amount of information. Furthermore, GPT-4 scored 298 out of 400 on the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) mock exam. This shows, as mentioned above, excellence to pass the exam in the top ten percent of the examinees. . . .
Under these circumstances, what can teachers and schools do? Here are various ways to the solution the treatise suggests:
・Educating students about what plagiarism is
・Engaging in students’ writing papers
・Employing tools detecting content's similarity
・Establishing guidelines for using generative AIs

* It refers the academic paper published by three British researchers in 2023.
