今日の作品は、長山海澄さんの創作ユニット「夜桜」。
星型十二面体の先端に桜の花びらが１輪ずつ配置された、桜系ユニットの新しい可能性を感じさせるデザインです。

Welcome to Atelier masanii.
Today's model is "Cherry Blossoms at Night" designed by Kaito Nagayama.
It's a new taste that Sakura flowers are placed on each tip of star dodecahedron.

撮影にあたり、妻が雛飾り用の屏風と漆塗りの床を出してきてくれました。

On shooting, my wife brought a screen and floor for traditional doll's Festival.

素晴らしい。

It's so cool.

テキストは、昨年８月に開かれた長山さんの初個展「星を折る」の開催を記念して発行されたもの。
ちょうど同時期にあった「折り紙探偵団コンベンション」の会場で、ご本人から直接購入することができました。

This model is listed in a textbook, that was commemorated to his first exhibition in August last year.
I got it when I met him in Origami Tanteidan Convention held at the same time.

オリジナルは黄色＆ピンクなのですが、私は水色をチョイスしたので、原題の「夜桜」らしくない「昼間の桜」になってしまいました。

The original color is yellow & pink, but I chose light blue so it became pretty bright like daytime.

しかし、そこは撮影でカバーです！
iPhone14のポートレートモードは凄いですね〜。

So I used iPhone14 to make it dark.
Function "Portrait" is so useful!

では、レポートいきます。
素材はクラサワの両面単色おりがみ「みず／ピンク」。
サイズは15cm×15cm。
半分の7.5cmで作るつもりでしたが、細部を作り込む自信がなかったので、諦めて15cmのまま作ることにしました。諦めが肝心です。
しかし、経験者なら分かると思いますが、完成サイズは相当デカくなるんですよね…
置き場に困ったら、あげちゃおうかな。

Now let's report.
I prepared double colored origami "Light blue & Pink" producted by Kurasawa company.
Size is 15cm×15cm. I thought making with 7.5cm, but it'll be difficult. So I compromised.
However, as experienced players may be realized, the completed size will be quite big.
When annoyed where I store it, I'll donate to someone.

パーツ単体は、そんなに難しくありません。
テキストでは組んだあとに花びらを作るのですが、空中で折りやすくするため、事前に仕込んでおきました。
ただ、当然ながら手間がかかります。１ユニット10分くらいでしょうか。

To make one unit is not so difficult.
The textbook says that make petals after assembling. But I made creases in advance to make it easier to fold.
It naturally spends more time. It takes about 10 minutes per one.

パーツ同士を重ねたあとは、先程の仕込みどおりに折ればOK。若干の誤差は出ますが、まっさらの状態よりは折りやすいです。
テキストでは「接着不要」もありますが、持久力＆耐久性を考えて接着することにしました。

After combining two parts, fold along the creases just before. They're slightly misaligned but easy to adjust.
No glue required in the textbook, but I glued to make it durable.

花びらの底（基部）は右に倒した状態が正解なのですが、ふわっとした感じを出したかったため、両方から折って浮かせることにしました。
左右対称にもなり、個人的には満足しています。

The base of each petal should be folded to the right, I folded to both sides to make it float. It also became symmetry so I'm satisfied.

花びらの形は「ぐらい折り」なので綺麗に折れるか不安でしたが、厳密な左右対称じゃなくても気になりませんでした。
それより、ナチュラルな曲線を作るのに試行錯誤しました。
ベストな形が決まったら、あとは１パーツ２箇所×３０箇所＝６０箇所で「ソレ」をリピートするまでです。
中心と両サイドの裏側は、浮かないようにノリ入れしてあります。

To shape petals, there's no clear guideline. But we don't have to make it accurate symmetry because the misalignments are inconspicuous.
Rather than that, I struggled to make natural curves.
After determining the best shape, just repeat it in each 2×30part=60part.
Center & both edges are glued not to be peeled off.

あとは、ひたすら作って組んでいくだけです！
最後は手こずりそう…と思ったら結構サクッと組めました。
花びら一つ一つを整えたら、完成です！！
作成日数は、ちょうど１週間です。

After that, just make & assemble!
The final assembly might be difficult, but it was unexpectedly smooth.
Adjusting each petal, completed!
It took just one week.

それにしても…デカい。
バスケットボールくらいありそうです。
図書館にでも寄贈しようかな…

Anyway it's so big like a basketball.
I wonder I present to the library...

長山海澄さんのテキスト「星を折る」より「夜桜」。
購入から半年も経ってしまいましたが、ようやく長山さんのユニットを折ることができました。
図らずも、これからの季節にぴったりの作品ですね。春が待ち遠しいです。
他の作品もユニークなものばかりなので、時間を見つけて挑戦してみようと思います！

Half a year passed since I have bought the textbook, unexpectedly it suits now Sakura season well. Spring is coming!
The other models are also unique & cool, I'll try someday.

さて、当の長山さんは現在「毎日１作ユニット新作を発表」というチャレンジを実施中です。
すでに300日目を突破してます。すごい。
By the way, now he's challenging "release one unit work daily". He has already make over 300. Incredible!
