今日は、8/12(土)〜8/13(日)に行われた「第28回折紙探偵団コンベンション」の様子をお届けします。

Today I'll report about "28th Origami Tanteidan Convention" held on Aug 12nd & 13rd.

これは日本折紙学会が主催する大規模な折り紙の大会で、オフラインの開催は実に4年ぶりとなります。
会場となった東京大学弥生講堂には、国内外から総勢200人のオリガミストが集結！！
現地参加券が数日で完売するなか、どうにか席をゲットしたまさにぃは、平日より2時間も早起きして電車に飛び乗り、東大の地に足を踏み込むのでした。

This is an annual large convention organized by Japan Origami Academic Society (JOAS), it was the first time in four years that was held off-line.
From all over the world, 200 origamists were gathered at the venue, Tokyo university.
While the tickets are sold out during only a few days, I fortunately got one.
Waking up two hours earlier, I hopped on the train and entered the venue.

そこは、折り紙ガチ勢のエデン。
有名作家の講習や圧巻の展示、そしてオリガミストとの交流。
4年分の想いがつまった濃密な2日間は、言い表せないほど感慨深いものでした。

It was a paradise for Origami mania.
Special lesson by famous creators, overwhelming exhibition, and interaction with origamists.
Four year worth of thoughtful two days were emotional beyond words.

私の拙い言葉や写真では伝わりづらいかもしれませんが、その空気感だけでもお届けできればと思い、ここにレポートいたします。
お時間のある時に、ゆっくりご覧いただければ幸いです。
Though it's hard to explain by my words & photos, I'll show you even just the mood.

☘️☘️Day1☘️☘️

どうせお昼はコンビニも混むだろうと、炭水化物とタンパク源、それに食物繊維を買い込んで正門をくぐります。
弥生講堂の前は「それっぽい人」や「明らかに東大生じゃない未成年（キッズ）」で溢れかえっていました。
Thinking food shop will be crowded, I bought them before reception.
Around the venue, There're already many participants.

受付に行くと、2メートル先には日本を代表する伝説の折り紙作家・神谷哲史さんが普通に座ってました。
全米オープンでナダル選手がチケットもぎりをやってるようなもんです。
この異様な距離感、確か4年前もそんな感じだったのを思い出しました。
こういうのもコンベンションの醍醐味ですが、さすがに緊張してしまいました。
At the reception, amazingly Mr. Satoshi Kamiya, the legend creator sat naturally,  just two meters away.
It's like a situation that Rafael Nadal engages ticket picking at the US open.
I realized, that closeness is also same as three years ago.
This is unique to the convention, but I got a little nervous.

エントリーを済ませると、講習の時間割（コマ表）と希望用紙が渡されます。
自分が受けたい作家さんのコマを、ここで選ぶわけです。
ロビーには、真剣な眼差しで用紙とにらめっこする面々。もちろん全員ガチ勢です。

After the entry, lesson timetable and application form were distributed.
We can chose lessons we want here.
In the lobby, many people were facing the application form seriously. Of course they must be all origami mania.

ホールの客席で開会式を待っていると、あちこちで「久しぶり！」「初めまして！」という賑やかな声が飛び交っていました。
私も便乗しようと思ったのですが、そこで現代ならではの問題が発生。
Waiting opening ceremony, I heard "I'm happy to see you again!" "Pleased to meet you!" everywhere.
I wanted to join soon but faced a problem unique to modern times.

それは、みんなアカウント名しか知らないことです。
会場では本名を記載した名札をぶら下げるルールがあるのですが、さすがにアカウント名までは書いてありません。
I know just only their handle!
In the venue, the participants must wear a nametag. However their handle are not included.

なので、「〇〇さん（ハンドルネーム）、久しぶり〜！」とかいう会話が聞こえたら、耳をダンボにしつつ風貌と服装を記憶します。
ついでにアカウントを瞬時に検索してウラを取ります（地味に大事）。
その人たちの会話が終わった頃、「あの〜、〇〇さんですか？まさにぃと申します、お世話になってます」なんて声をかけるワケです。
こんな姑息なマネをしてたのは私だけでしょうか。
So I remembered their appearances when someone said one's name, and then check their handle by searching social media. When they stop talking, I speak to him "Hi, I wonder you are 〇〇. I'm masanii".
Does anyone do such a makeshift like me?

幸い、CAFE RICCOの合同展示でご一緒したコタさんと早々に合流でき、そこから色々な方と関わることができました。
写真はコタさんオリジナルのバラ。相変わらず素晴らしいデザインです。

Fortunately I could act with Kota who joined the last exhibition together, interacted many people through him.
The photo above is his original rose, his works are still wonderful!

☘️☘️Opening☘️☘️

開会式では「ついにこの日が来たぞ〜！」という感極まった拍手。みんな気持ちは同じだったんですね。
特別ゲストの講演では、海外から来た2人のオリガミストが登壇されました。
At the opening ceremony, thunderous applause occurred that everyone had been looking forward to this moment.
After that, special speech was given by overseas guests.

一人目はオリオール・エステべさん（スペイン）。
15×15×15
つまり「15cm×15cmの正方形から15分で作る」という同氏のポリシーは、私も含め多くの方の心に響いたのではないでしょうか。
イラストやカートゥーンから着想を得ているという、絶妙に抽象化されたデザイン。
写実主義に偏りすぎず「折り紙らしさ」を追求するというスタイルは、かの吉澤章さんに通じるものを感じました。
講演後、質問しそびれた私の方に来てくださり、直接お話しする（！）機会をくださったのは本当に嬉しかったです。
Mr. Oriol Esteve from Spain
"15×15×15"
That is his policy "Make models form 15cm×15cm square, in 15 minutes". This word impressed not only me but also every origamists.
Unfortunately I couldn't ask a question him in Q&A session, but he kindnessly came to me after the speech and have a time to talk with him!

続いて、パク・ジョンウさん（韓国）。
韓国の折り紙団体「Origami Pro」を立ち上げた一人として、その経緯や理念などをお話しいただきました。
初の展示会にまつわるエピソードは、とても勉強になりました。
作風が異なるメンバーの作品を、白一色に揃えることで統一感を出したこと。
照明にもこだわり、厳かで美しい雰囲気を演出していたこと。
得られた収益を活かし、次の企画に繋げたこと。
（コタさんと「CAFE RICCOの合同展示は、クラフト紙で統一したのが良かったんですね」と回顧していました。）
遊びも折り紙も妥協なく楽しむ姿、カッコ良かったです。
Mr. Park Jong Woo from Korea
As a founder of Korean origami community "Origami Pro", he talked about its process and policy.
The story about their first exhibition was especially learningful for me.
They unified various models that were made by members' different tastes, by making all models white.
And also sticked to the lighting effects and directed majesty and beauty.
In addition they leveraged the earnings to the next.
(I talked with Kota that the reason why the last exhibition could be succeed was unifying all models with craft paper.)
His attitude to enjoy not only origami not also private was so cool!

☘️☘️講習／Seminars☘️☘️

折り紙作家さん自らが、未公開作品を直接教えてくれるという夢のような時間。
多くの方が、この講習を楽しみに遠方から足を運んでいます。
たいてい有名作家のコマは瞬殺なのですが、どのコマも最高に楽しいことには変わりありません。
Origami creator teaches their own unpublished models. It's like a dream!
Everyone were looking forward to taking the lesson and come from afar.
The famous creators' lessons are usually sold out soon, anyway every class must be a pleasant time.

＜１日目／Day1＞
❶神谷哲史さん「アフガンハウンド＆ブルドッグ」
高１のころ、「神谷哲史作品集」をきっかけに世界が変わったことは、今も鮮明に覚えています。神谷さんの講習を受けられるなんて、当時は考えもしなかったでしょう。
❶Afghan Hound, Bulldog by Mr. Satoshi Kamiya
When I was 15 his first book changed my world. That memory is still unforgettable. I didn't even think the day will come that I can take his lesson!

「アフガンハウンド」は、作品集２に載っているゴールデンレトリバーの姉妹作とのこと。
微妙な加減が要求される毛並みのテイストは、経験すればするほど上手に仕上げられそうです。

"Afghan Hound" is a similar work to "Golden Retriever" listed in his second textbook.
In fur structure is required subtle adjustment, it needs experience to make it beautiful.

「ブルドッグ」
箱のような立体感とチャーミングな表情…のはずが、モアイのようにイカつい風貌になってしまいました。
そもそも灰色をチョイスしたのが間違いだった疑惑。
（しかし、これはこれで気に入っている）

"Bulldog"
Tree-dimensional design like a box and charming face... But my work became rugged like a Moai statue.
I wonder it was mistake to use a gray paper...
(However it's fine and I like it)

❷オリオール・エステべさん「おすわりねこ」
海外ゲストの講習が当たるとは！と感激して臨んだ本番。
講演会でも言っていた通り、シンプルで特徴を捉えた造形はさすがです。
ジョークを混ぜながら楽しく進めてくれて、最後にはクジ引き大会までやっちゃうサービス精神にも拍手を贈りたいと思います。

❷"SITTING CAT" by Mr. Oriol Esteve
I'm happy to take a lesson by overseas guest!
As he mentioned about his previous speech, his work has simple and moderately abstracted the original features.
He run the lesson friendly and sometimes with jokes, finally he even held lottery. I respect his pleasant attitude.

❸川村みゆきさん「サンダーホイール」
言わずと知れた大御所の川村さん。
エキセントリックな名前の８枚組ユニットは、手軽に作れてインパクト抜群！
教え方が本当に上手で、言葉の選び方やペース配分、余談の挟み方なども勉強になりました。
アレンジも自由自在だったので、長〜く楽しめそうです。

❸"Thunder Wheel" by Ms. Miyuki Kawamura
Needless to say, she's one of the greatest origami creators.
The unit model made of 8 parts with eccentric name, can be made easily and has outstanding impact!
She was really good at teaching and learningful for me about how to chose words, make the overall pace and add a digression.
It can be deformed in various patterns so I will be enjoyable for a long time.

＜２日目／Day2＞
❶勝田恭平さん「肉球」
インサイドアウトの魔術師・勝田さんの新作。
一体どこからこんなアイディアが出てくるのでしょうか。
たくさん作って色々な所に貼りたくなっちゃう、シンプルでかわいい肉球です。
先端を折り返すだけで、指先に「ツメ」を出すこともできます。
職場で配ったら大人気になりそう。久しぶりに普及啓発しようかな…

❶"Paw Pad" by Mr. Kyohei Katsuta
He uses Inside-out technique magically, I wonder how he comes up with such unique ideas.
Simple & cute Paw Pad that I feel like making a lot and sticking them on everywhere!
Nails can be appeared by pulling out the tips.
It will be so popular if I hand out them...

❷萩原元さん「カンガルー2022」
脚の立体構造が特徴的なこのモデル、こちらも「折り紙らしさ」が光る逸品です。
最小限の動きで各パーツがダイナミックに組み上がっていく様子は、まるで手品のよう。一手進めるたびに「おぉ〜」と歓声が上がっていました。
複雑系には出せない味のある雰囲気、折り紙の新たな境地を間近で見ることができて感動しました。

❷"Kangaroo 2022" by Mr. Gen Hagiwara
This model is also a masterpiece that remains an origami texture. The legs consist of distinctive three-dimensional structure.
The state that every part be assembled dynamically by minimum action, it's like a magic. The participants cheered by every step.
The sophisticated design not found in complex model, I impressed to see a new world.

❸北條高史さん「組立式空想科学人形頭部」
いわゆる「少女キャラの頭」です。目のつけどころが違いますね〜！
かなりハイペースな講習でしたが、この場にお金を払って来ている時点で「ガチな人」か「覚悟を決めた人」しかいません。
沈め折りやストレッチが何のその。みんな「はーいOpen sinkね」と涼しい顔して秒殺する光景はなかなかシュールでした。
（かくいう私は序盤で迷子になり、同じテーブルの方に助けてもらいました。）
前髪で片目を隠すのはトレンド…でもあるけれど、実は「両目を作る手間が省けるから」だそうです。
ヘアアレンジは慣れ次第で自在に動かせそうなので、色々いじくってみようと思います。

❸"Head of Modular SF Figures" by Mr. Takashi Hojo
In short "Anime girl's head", cool!
The lesson ran so speedy but the participants are all experts.
"Open sink" or "Stretch" are easy for them, and they cleared calmly and immediately. It's crazy.
(I was lost in the beginning and the other participants assisted me.)
He said hiding an eye is a current trend, but actually it also have another purpose that "We don't have to make one eye".
Once I get used to hair arrangement, it'll be deformed in various way so I'll try a lot!

❹加藤眸さん「チェロ」
こんなにオシャレな作品が１時間で折れるなんて！
加藤さんのシンプルで温かい作風は、オリオールさんの言う「写実的になりすぎない」というポリシーに通じるところがあります。
折り図も配布してくださった（めちゃ貴重）ので、ぜひ黒×茶色で清書したいところです。

❹"Chello" by Mr. Hitomi Kato
I'm so blessed that I have an opportunity to make such a stylish model!
His style is simple & warm, and without being too realistic. It is in common with Mr. Oriol Esteve.
He thankfully distributed a diagram (really precious!) so I will try witn black & brown paper in the near future.

余った時間で音符（２種）まで教えてくれて、大満足の時間となりました。

In addition there was a little surplus time, so he taught two kinds of "Musical note". I was highly satisfied!

❺満田茂さん「ダックスフント」
「にゃんこ」や「デジタル数字」などのユニーク作品が大流行しているタツミさん！
立体化するプロセスや脚のロック機構、鼻先を浮かせるテクニックなど、おもしろさ満載の講習でした。
完成品を何個かテーブルに置いておく、という工夫は私もぜひ取り入れたいと思います。

❺"Dachshund" by Mr. Shigeru Mitsuda
He is now especially popular for "Cat" or "Digital Numbers"!
Process for assembling three-dimensionally, and mechanism for fixing the folded layers, and technique to protrude the nose, there are countless interesting points!
And he showed us a useful tip that putting some completed models on the table. I'll adopt this solution!

展示でも大量の作品を並べてくださり、会場の一角が「ひとり動物園」と化していました。作品集の登場が待ち遠しいです！

He exhibited a lot of works and the field turned to a zoo. I can't wait to publish his personal works textbook!

☘️☘️長山海澄さん個展☘️☘️
Exhibition by Mr. Kaito Nagayama

１日目のおわり、何かと行動を共にしたコタさんとお別れしたあとは、長山海澄さんの初個展「星を折る」に行ってきました！

After the first day and saying goodbye to Kota, I visited the first solo exhibition "Folding Stars" by Kaito Nagayama.

会場は、練馬にある小さなカフェスペース「MARIMO caf'e65」。
長山さん特製のユニットスターが暖色ライトで照らされ、キャンプで夜空を眺めるような世界観が演出されていました。

The venue is "MARIMO caf'e65", a small art cafe space in Nerima, Tokyo.
His original star units were illuminated by warm lights, it's a world like stargazing at a night camp.

机にもスターが散りばめられ、ずっと座って眺めていたくなる雰囲気です。

On the desk the stars were also studded, I felt like sitting for a long time.

カウンターの白鳥も素敵。

On the counter, a beautiful Swan was sitting.

何より、初めてお会いできたこと、初個展開催のお祝いを直接お伝えできたことが嬉しいです。
専用の折り図集（！）まで買えたのは、予想外の大収穫でした。

More than anything, I was happy that I could meet him for the first time and convey congratulations.
And I  could get his special diagram for this exhibition, this is an unexpected harvest!

☘️☘️嬉しかったこと／Happiest thing☘️☘️

この２日間で一番嬉しかった出来事。
ある小学生の男の子が会場で「まさにぃさんですか？」と声をかけてくれました。
（ここではお名前は伏せさせていただきます）
以前から私のブログを見てくださっているとのこと、しかも随分前の記事まで読んでくれていました。
The happiest thing of two days.
A boy found and talked to me who had read my blog, and more he read them all the way back to far old posts.

実は「〇〇さん経由で〜」という事はあっても、こうしてダイレクトに来てくれた方は初めてだったので、感激してしまいました。
お母様と三人で話したり、同じ講習を受けたりする機会もあり、２日間を通して交流できたもの良かったです。
私も少ないながら、可能な限り知り合いのオリガミストの方々を紹介させていただきました。
Actually there were several people who knew me through someone, but he was the first person who come to me directly, so I was so impressed!
There was enough time to talk with him & his mom and take the same lesson, we  could interacted a lot through two days.
Also, I introduced my friends to him as much as possible.

コンベンションは初参加とのこと、今後もたくさん新しい世界に触れて、折り紙を楽しんでもらえたらと思います。
私の活動が少しでも後押しになれれば、それはとても幸せなことです。
彼がくれた創作のプレゼントは、大切に飾っておこうと思います。
また来年も会えたらいいですね。

This is the first time for him to join this event. From now on I hope him to know the new world and enjoy origami a lot.
It is really happy if my activity become useful for him.
I will treasure the original gift from him. See you next year!

はい！
だいぶ駆け足でしたが、超濃厚な２日間の様子をお届けしました！
I showed a part of super joyful two days in short!

世界の広さと人の優しさ、自分の小ささ（＋ちょっとの伸びしろ）を強烈に体感して、しばらくは余韻に浸れそうです。
I experienced the vastness of the world and my own inadequacy (and a little possibilities). I can soak in the afterglow for a while.

コロナが影を落とした３年間は残念でしたが、
４年ぶりに再会できた方、初めてお会いした方、講習でご一緒した方、この時間・この空間を共有できて本当に幸せです。
Unfortunately COVID casted a shadow for three years, but now my heart has been filled with sharing precious times with all people.
